very nice! I had wanted to compare it to my '50's Dobbs twenty, but of course they're pretty much the same color, I think mine is Cordova, and the same measurements. What really endeared me to the hat was that it was from close to the home area. Glad that you are diggin' it, you wear it well.
Thank you again... really enjoying it.

Be safe, be strong and see you on the street soon, Eric -
Wow!
Did you jump in a time machine? That lid looks like you just walked out of the haberdashy, looked up and down the street, gave a kid a dime to run up the block to buy you a paper and told him to keep the change.

Been self quarantined so not much hat wearing lately. Hope everyone is safe and virus free.... The Lonestar Dude is abiding.

Ken, is that you in there?:)

Janyška "Parga" possibly late 1930s early 1940s. The black felt on this hat is of a heavier weight so most likely worn without side dents. This hat is from my May 2016 NOS Czech find.

This week I will highlight Janyška & Cie. from Czechoslovakia. Janyška & Cie. was started in the 1920s in Valašské Meziříčí – Krásno about 25 km from Nový Jičín (location of JHS, BB, AP). Janyška & Cie. was a Czech company based on Austrian hat tradition. Janyška & Cie. became Tonak Factory 2 post WWII and the factory was closed 1961.

I knew I was going to like this week, Steve. Another cool hat.

View attachment 227737 Dragged the kid out for some exercise with me. Made it about 4 miles. Silverbelly VS went along for the ride. We saw about a half dozen cars the entire walk. That’s pretty insane considering we live in a city. Anyway, y’all stay safe.
Nice hat, Alan. Enough exercise for now; now back with the kid to learn how to make hat liners!

I decided on a Pilgrim. Morefelt bowler to wear with my quarantine facial scruff.
Very nice. I don't immediately associate Pilgrim with bowlers.

30 Days to 30 Hats - Day 14
Knox Twenty - Brown with Back Bow

View attachment 227789

Knox Twenty - Chocolate Brown
4 1/2 Crown as bashed
2 inch Brown Grosgrain Ribbon with back bow
2 1/4 brim with Cavanagh Edge
Oilskin liner tip

This one arrived today thanks to a much appreciated tip by fellow lounge member @georgie girl. I’ve been looking for a brown hat with similar dimensions for a bit as I love my black Dobbs very close in size to this. This one with its back bow and oilskin liner seem to point to 1950s vintage... and I think it’s manufacturer tag also supports that theory. The grosgrain ribbon appears to be a matching brown color.. though the grosgrain ribs can give it a grayish look depending on the light.

I will name this one after location of the store it was originally sold at and one of my wife’s favorite Garth Brooks songs... Tacoma

This one will climb very quickly on my favorite hats list.

That one gets the stamp of approval right away, Joe.

A late entry for #14
My Knox-off Strat clone. There’s nothing authentic about this hat except for its good looks.

Very nice hats both, Roger.

Thanks, Michael. I would have thought having this many was just one step beyond; madness really:).

Going strong, Joe. The brim has some attitude on that one.

Fantastic, Steve. This is going to be a good week! Looking forward to the others.

Very nice, Perry. Wonderful combination with that mid-ribbon.

Excellent hats both!

Steadily rising to rival the blue Marathon, Michael.
Isn't madness just a state of mind? And thanks, the Borsalino is rating highly with me, too.

Another great pair from the Collezione Inglese.

A good day to wear some cool felt and a wonderful coat, Michael.
Thanks Stefan. I didn't think I'd be wearing sheepskin again this year. I'm sure the OR will see good head time.

Thanks,
Michael

Thanks Stefan. The hat's really nothing to write home about, in line with a modern Scala. I think Sears slapped the brand on whatever unbranded dogies landed in their rope. I have a very nice OR clone early enough to have a natural reed in the sweatband. I also had a cattleman creased Pilgrim Western of coarse wool with a yellow tip sticker featuring a bucking horse I've run across before as well as Roll-Ease Brim stamped on the faux leather sweatband. The felt is now in a bag with some others I may or may not reblock (plans change) into a line for cheapskates. I did retrieve a nice 6 ply ribbon and color matched brim binding from it at least.

Enjoying the continuation of English week. The Attaboy is cool... but also good thing the branding is on the inside as it may also come with a swift smack on the backside. Probably incompatible with social distancing AND Me too! :D:po_O
