I will opine about it some time in the future in the OR thread! I have a few things of interest to post there.....;) And the felt and ribbon color are a good match to the first photo of the whole hat......(at least on my screen).
OH, and YES......I am wearing it today!:):):):):):):)

WOW! Wow is just what I have looking at the pics.

Congrats on the new hat. Opine away or make a Tic Toc vid of you wearing it. ;)

Jeez, that Buccaneer is a beaut! If I had to pick only one of my hats to live with for the rest of my life...it’d be one of yours...and this’n might be it.

Thanks Randall. It really is a special hat. I have to be careful to not wear the hat so often that I wear it to an early demise.

Sunburnt today while building my Father a 24 X 16 shed for his golf cart and JD mower. Whew! It’s been hot and humid this week in the deeeep muddy muggy south. Rain, rain, rain and now hot, hot, hot!
Im being forced to build the thing using old warped materials that Dad had laying around for 8 years. Some new materials, that I bought, found their way into the shed, despite my Father’s depression era groans of wasteful spending. Not my usual carpentry fair, but hey, it’s just a mower shed. I’ll have the metal roof on tomorrow if I don’t die of heat exhaustion.

Got this 50s Stevens 3 days ago.
Man, she’s a black sweetheart. Though I’ve wanted a Stevens, it wasn’t high on the list and didn’t think I’d end up with one this nice.
Well built and quality abounds.
2 1/2 dark grey bound brim. The ribbon is a little different than the typical grosgrain. Though many times black fedoras are a non-event, for me, this one stands out a bit. The only thing I had to do with this hat is to steam in a c-crown.
I even like the feather it came with. $27 free shipping is the icing on this ebony cake!
I’ve included a lot of pics of the inside, since this brand seems often MIA from the 50s.

Karl Misik (KAMI) "Special", NOS condition, possibly late 1930s early 1940s. The Wool Felt has a mix of dark and light grays which produces a pleasing visual effect. The form is of the place and time period. Very interesting + unique Bow design. This hat is from my June 2015 NOS Czech find.

Here is some background on O.F. Hess - K. Masik Vereinigte Haar- und Woll - Hutfabriken.

Felt Hat factory built by Ondrej Felix Hess. After him, the factory was taken over by his nephew Karel Misík, who built a new factory (Fur Felt and Wool) in Karlín and both functioned as "United Hat Factory, K. Misík". All Hat Factories in Czechoslovakia were nationalized as TONAK after WWII.

Some of the factory buildings and villa survived. Here are past and present day photos.

Groovy wool and bow! And I love the exterior architecture design of that old villa. Wonder what the inside looked like?

Randall, Thank you! I am sure the villa interior was really nice back in the day. The villa was probably converted to some other function during the communist period. I hope it's been (or being) restored but probably wishful thinking.

For a second it felt like just another Summer day at my local beach. A few families out with the pickup, tent, coolers, BBQ, and all the gear. The sand has started to come back after being washed away by the Winter storms. But then after going back to last years favorite spot on the North side of the beach next to the break water that is the remains of the old jetty, I saw that the beach is still covered with wood, the water is black with decaying plant matter, and this corner of the beach still has tons of rocks sticking up under the surf. Took a good long swim out past the breakers, drifting South into high surf and a few surfers. Came ashore about a quarter mile away, and walking back to my beach chair I realized that while I saw one or two people that had no suntan, the beach still had a very small fraction of people compared to this time of last year. I'm not complaining.

I like the dramatic flare of the cut of this Mr. Freedom cap, and the herringbone twill indigo stripe vintage cotton is nice and light for Summer.

Never seen an OR THAT clean and pristine, M.
You must’ve found an entrance to Alan’s or Eric’s vast storage rooms!
If you did, let me go with you next time. :)
Congrats on obtaining THE winning OR!
