Thanks, I think I might make myself a hardwood open block to my size and redo it with less taper and a different bash. Be fun and a proper open block say a #52 maybe in my size would be very handy I imagine. I got a couple of old hats I could use to learn and practice on more, bugger think I found another rabbit hole! lol, well I have a lathe and massive bandsaw and not much excuse to not have a go. As to weight loss, yeah was difficult for sure but life gave me no other choice so it's done. Last time I was this weight I was almost 12 years old, lost 61kg and am truely half the man I used to be. 4XL down to a 32/34 inch waist. Gorgeous colour, love the lid and it looks stunning. My only gripe is the small ribbon, no idea what it is about thin ribbon with me but I'm not a huge fan.
Thanks Joe. I think Portis specialized in unique ribbon treatments. Thanks Dave. I think I may have seen one other example of that embroidered logo. I believe the hat dates to the early to mid 40s It has to come out and play once and awhile. That Caxton is a gem, Stefan. Can't help liking that Stetson an awful lot, too. Thanks, Michael

Rebashed my Campdraft, as I could not fall in love with the c crown I had on it. And for those who don’t like Akubra, (which I’ll never get), Here’s a Gannon.
Following Michael's lead. I was sport'n a Mallory. Not a Dallas, but a Ten today for some outside chores. Cheers, Eric -
Stetson 7X clear beaver sold in Phoenix, Ariz. c.1950. One of the first vintage hats I purchased... it arrived smaller than sized and crispy dry from the Arizona heat. My first attempts at restoring the size were not without hardship.
Yeah ... me neither (on my Dell laptop using Chrome). I can see them on my iPhone. I toss a "like" out there regardless as I know they're going to be good when I do get around to viewing.
It's warm again, think summer is gonna be a stinker but hey, whats new down here lol. Only a cheapie mesh linen Max Alexander summer lid but it's a cool 'n comfy lil bit O shade and I like it. Taking the better half out for a picnic and a bit O relaxing.
They were working when I saw them before but same on my screen now. But it you click on them and open in a new window or tab voila! They work in other browsers though
