Great pair of homburgs, Steve, but I really like the color of this Mayser Hut-Seidel.

Such a wonderful parade of hats gentlemen!

Sun is finally here after a whole week with snow, rain and extremely strong winds... so we aimed for a walk and some coffee. St. Regis and Akubra stylemaster the hats of choice for today. View attachment 303315 View attachment 303316
Unfortunately new tough shutdown measures had everything closed since this morning...so we just ended up in the grocery store for some shopping :) View attachment 303317 Have all a nice and safe weekend!
Classy as always, Panos, and your wife equally so!

All these great Homburgs posted lately have had me wearing some of mine of late.
Today, it was the Samuel Mortlock and Son Lord's hat's turn to get an outing.

Have a great weekend folks.

Thanks, Steve, for the lowdown on your locale and that luscious Lords hat.

I sewed on this ribbon and pleated bow tonight.
I’ve owned a very nicely made mid 60s slim brim years ago, and have seen several other 60s/70s models on eBay. Was this company making hats earlier than the 60s?

I believe it was part of the Resistol family similar to Bradford. I’m not sure when they started making hats, or if they were independent and later acquired by Resistol.

Great hat, and your restoration work keeps getting better, and that’s really saying something!

Thanks, Jonathan, Brent @deadlyhandsome and Reggie @Dlaniger
Thanks for the very kind words, and all the likes, as well!
For gills, skill and a strong will is definitely needed to finish well!
Almost decided to do dog ears on this one, but glad I talked myself out of it! Maybe next time on a 9 pleater. :)

I say, Whatever works, Johnny!
And looks like it did. Nice lids!
Wasn’t long ago I was using a round sided fry pan and steam to make the cupped shape needed for brim flanges! :)
I finally ponied up the dough for a composite hat block and flanger.
Best money I’ve ever spent!

Looks great, Brent.

View attachment 302870 My hat of the day is a refurbishment of an otherwise beautiful, mint condition 1930s Dobbs homburg.
An 85 year old survivor deserves the best work one can do and I kept this in mind when hand sewing the original sweatband back into this $50 eBay purchase. (More on this hat in the EBay victories thread)

Y’all have a great and awesome day!!
Wonderful, Randall. The hat is worthy of your determination.
