Thanks for the compliment. Don’t need any new boots though. I already have a few pair from “Alberta Boot Company” buy local.

A white felt like that, I have hankered after for ages. The London company Lock & Co. have one the call a Chesterfield. It's very tempting, however Lock have a vague sort of hat sizing. To get a size correct I always quote both Imperial & metric. Reason being that UK & US imperial sizes differ and although it's only slightly it's enough for the hat not to be a snug fit. Lock use small, medium, large, X large & XX large. I shall wait until I can go to London and try before I buy. Here's the Chesterfield.

Currently all I have for white, off white or cream is straw. This Panama by Gamboa topped off the blazer, whilst the good lady did the honours with the shirt, trousers and, would you believe, the bow tie.

Wow, what a hat ! 'stache is nice too.

From head to toe, just perfect Michael!
Thanks Panos. Some days go better than others.

It's been a while, running quite busy lately. A few oldies from previous days.

Looks a bit foggy there, Panos. All great hats and accompaniments, but that bluish gray Brock is beyond words perfect. Excellent show.

Thanks,
Michael

Borsalino Qualitia Suprema Feather Weight

My favorite Borsalino coffin box find. The feather weight weighs in at 74 grams... 10 grams more than my black Qualita Superiore probably mostly accounted for by the liner included on this hat. This one also came with its original instructions on how to awaken it from its coffin box slumber.

Years ago I watched the movie Monty Walsh. Loved it so much I bought the book. In it Monty buys a blue Stetson. So I started talking to Art Fawcett about a new hat that meets that description but isn’t too “Yee Haw” if you know what I mean. So he made me this one that he called his first crossover. An excellent way to give life to the old hat. Congrats on that Dobbs.

View attachment 316180 1955 Dobbs 2 7/8 Guild Edge in Silverbelly that was given to me by a 74 year old man who I’m building a one car garage for.
Told him I was a collector that refurbished hats and he took me inside and showed me he one that was owned by his Grandpa. He talked about his “Gramp”, the hat and memories and I told him how special the Dobbs was and how much the hat might sell for and other hat facts.
An hour later he came out to the garage and gave it to me! A very nice and gracious man. Wouldn’t let me pay anything for it. Wish it had his initials stamped in the sweatband.
As luck would have it, it’s my size!
My new favorite. View attachment 316182 View attachment 316181 View attachment 316178 View attachment 316179 These last two pics are before and after shots of the liner. I’ve come up with a good way to clean them without removal.

I have a similar hat from Luzzi. Mine says Trionfo on the sweat and does not say featherweight. Mine has no liner but who knows if it did originally. I picked this one up from MiamiBruno

Really nice! That hat captures a lot of things I like and am trying to find in a hat. What are the dimensions? What color is that felt? Is the brim kind of set or does it snap?
