Mid 1950s Stetson “Playboy” Style
Lightweight ‘Loden’ Tan/Green Felt
Approx 5inch crown as shaped
2 1/2 Brim with a single stitched edge
5/8 Pewter grosgrain ribbon

It is almost the middle of March without any hat purchases by my so far this year… so I guess the hat gods had to get me caught up with Three in the same day. All three came via tips from Lounge Friends.

The first was simply the most ready to wear right out of the box and only needed a light brushing… it was posted here by @moehawk and I couldn’t resist snapping it up

Everything about this hat (except the usual notation on the sweatband) says to me Playboy. Thin lightweight felt, tall boxy crown, 5/8 mid ribbon, 2 1/2 brim with a single row of stitching. Actually my first “Playboy” style with the usual wider brim. Everything also in this hat aside from maybe the stars in the liner logo says mid 1950s

I agree…as the seller had suggested… the thin very moldable felt is likely a Loden color due to is chameleon ability to appear as tans and browns indoors and varying shades of green outdoors.

Cap? Is that what they call these things?
If you swivel your head very slowly with the earth’s rotation the forward facing brim will keep the sun outta your eyes most of the day!
Think I’ll stick with westerns and fedoras.

It was a combination of rain, sleet and snow for this morning's hike.

My 7+ year old Akubra Banjo Patterson was the hat of choice. It's stood up to all sorts of weather & abuse over the years and is still looking great.
