Wearing my Florentine Milan Stratoliner today.

The Florentine Milan has been getting some bad press on the lounge recently, being compared to a plastic bucket! That’s not been my experience, but I would say that the leather sweat band in this hat is the single lowest quality leather sweatband I own...by some distance. That said, it’s an okay hat.

I enjoyed my morning coffee under the brim of a Stetson OR Twenty-five.

I cut some of the lawn and blew the walkways and driveways clear of detritus while wearing a Stetson 3X OR.

I have played with this hat in order to get a big tugboat crease.

Cold brewed coffee was a real treat as it was beginning to heat up.

I agree with you that "plastic bucket" is a little harsh. I have woken up before with a plastic bucket on my head and I'm here to say they're nothing similar whatsoever.

But seriously - I think your Strat is a nice-looking hat. I've been getting into hemp straw more recently but I don't have anything bad to say about my experience with Florentine Milan. I have a Florentine Milan Stetson Latte that I enjoy wearing. It's got a cloth sweatband rather than leather, and it's actually a comfortable hat in warmer temps. It doesn't seem to be affected by an occasional rain shower either. I wear it at least once a week in warmer months, and it gets compliments from strangers so there's that too.

LOL, I stand by my assessment, which was arrived at after wearing one of those things in the middle of July at an air show. Whatever the stuff they spray on those things blocks all air movement and captures heat. I was miserable and never wore the damn thing again. Sold it on eBay for fifty bucks, I think.

The newer hemps are a whole different story, but those Florentine Milans, gah!

Possibly a latitude attitude or a geographic idiopathic. Idk

Something to consider...I had one of our talked-about hatters here on TFL put a "real" leather sweat in my Sunbody fedora. It is a completely different hat! Best money on a hat upgrade I've ever spent.

I had Mike @Mustang Mike sew a leather sweatband into a SunBody homburg. He said it was a terrible experience he wasn’t looking forward to doing again.

A reposting of this very clean Dobbs 15 Homburg from a generous Lounger friend. It's tagged a 7 1/2 but seems to fit more like a 7 3/8. I'm a 7 1/4 and this hat fits me good from front to back, a little roomy on the sides. Some folded up pieces of paper towels on the sides under the sweat and I'm good to go. Anyone who's familiar with these hats will tell you how nice the felt is and how well constructed they are.

Unlined Borsalino got both sunshine beach and bad weather in today. This deluge came on quickly and this was the result of about two steps out the door to a covered patio
