The ambiguous Wormser. The largest (3x5 3/4) OR clone I have.

Would be interesting if it were Bama, but Brüder is German for brothers. Brüder Böhm means Böhm Brothers. So the company you mention has probably just Anglisized the substantiv. I can't see it having anything to do with the hat company.

Thanks, Steve. I never looked below the surface. As a member here, laziness has its rewards, along with international members to answer such questions. So, "Bruderer" means brotherer?

If it was a German company, I would surmise they just Anglisized the name Brüder to Bruderer: Brothers.

Apologies if you thought I meant offence, Bama. That was not my intention. My horizons have been broadened on the Lounge thanks to you guys on the other side of the pond. I'd love to find an American made American hat over here. Wormsers are definitely one of them.

Yes, I figured as much. They're actually a Swiss Co. still operating here.

No offense taken or even considered. Wormser's are rare and this is my only one. Came to me via England from a fellow member.

Greg, Thank you. Fantastic Wormser from you today. Brueder / Brüder means brothers so Brothers Böhm. The grandson (Jonathan) contacted me via my website. I hear from him every so often. BB was a big operation including Men's and Women's Wool and Fur Felt Hat and Stump production. Jonathan has Victor Böhm's hat manufacturing certificate and Stiff Felt Hat. Victor Böhm was technical and had many patents. You can see more here.

Victor Böhm's hat manufacturing apprentice certificate (Lehrbrief), issued in 1910 by the Vienna Hatmakers Association (die Genossenschaft der Wiener Hutmacher).

Stlll looking for one of those hemp Strats for myself. Hatco outlet never seems to have those or open crown felt Strats. Looking good for summer cover, Brent. Really nice shirt, too!

  13. The “beater” 7XCB Open Road is out of the naphtha bath, but retains its racing stripe. Still needs steam, shaping and possibly a blocking. Right now it matches well with my mowing garb.

7X CB and "beater" never seems to go together well :)

I don't know that I have seen that one before, Bill. Is PB still making those for custom orders?
