Wore this beautiful 1930s Black Stetson yesterday. For some reason, I wasn't wearing this hat that much even though cheap black fedoras was how I got into hats, and black is just the color I wear all the time - but then I decided to modify it slightly adding a little bandana and a feather and I love it now! The hat spoke to me.

Certainly rings all the bells for me too, Jim.
Resistols are hard to beat, especially one like yours.

Out to meet a buddy for a four-way.

Calm down folks, I'm talking about chili.

Resistol Beaver Fifteen Kitten Finish. I have no idea what the beaver (or kitten) content is in this thing, but it has all the bells and whistles, including a Cavanagh edge and wind trolley.

That, and Robben's fake penalty in the World Cup are my two resentments with Holland.
The first was a cheat, and in the second the bullet hit the wooden Marshal of France baton case and then ricochetted into Count Carles D'Artagnan's chest. A lucky shot!
Both the French and the Dutch have it down that he was actually shot in the throat when he and his musketeers decided to storm one of the city gates. Not a good idea when the defenders have muskets too! No hard feelings though: there is a statue of him in Maastricht anyway: not something we tend to do for our enemies willy nilly. The Duke of Alva certainly doesn't have one. As for Robben; well, he was a bit of a tumbler, wasn't he? Not much of surprise there, because he did play in Germany, the inventors of the "schwalbe".:)

Nice!

Both nice. That Wormser is sweet!
Thanks, Randall. The Wormser is a sunny day hat.

Think I'll put on the old Pilgrim flat cap soon and get out for a bike ride.
Have a good day,
Michael
Good to see it again, Michael. Not enough of them to go around.

Resistol Beaver Forty. No tags under the sweat. Was this forty dollars, or does Beaver Forty mean that it has 40 percent beaver?
And what year is it from, about? If it says "A Byer-Rolnick product", does it mean it's before a certain year?
The felt is thick, obedient, and nice, but the hand isn't as smooth as my Knox and Dobbs Forties. View attachment 248389 View attachment 248390 View attachment 248391 View attachment 248392 View attachment 248393 View attachment 248394 View attachment 248395 View attachment 248396
That's a beautiful hat, Max. D'Artagnan would have approved of it (even without an ostrich feather).

No head shot today, but my San Antonio and I went into work today for a few hours to get my laptop replaced.

So here's my bookcase wearing my Resistol.

I do like the look of these San Antonios. Good shape to them.
Excellent, Fabio.

Very nice, Michael. Cool colours.

Great looking Borsalino Pallidio, Stefan.
Cool Wormser. I've always admired them.
Thanks, Steve. Good to see you around again!

I'm trying to catch up, folks. Not easy to do after a month or so away, but from what I've seen, FLers standards haven't slacked. Thank goodness for that

The weather has not been so summer like here in Denmark, so I got to wear my Barbisio Extra Lusso the other day. The felt is super thin, so fine to wear in sub 20°c weather.
Hope all are well, safe, and enjoying one kind of summer or another.
The upside of a less than stellar summer is that it allows you to wear felts all year round, Steve. Nice Barbisio; one of the softest hats I've had. Ah, I see you said the same thing.
Oops, forgot to post photos . Here they are ...
Beater or not: that is one mighty fine hat.
