Georg Gärner Wien possibly later 1920s. I really like the smaller Form of this Wool Stiff Felt and it wears great. Georg Gärner Wien had a few retail stores and there is a factory listed but I don't have any information on their production facilities. I tend to think this Wool Stiff Felt was sourced but I can't tell the manufacturer. My other Georg Gärner Wien Stiff Felt was made by J. Heinr. Ita Wien and is a Fur Felt. I found this Stiff Felt back in 2013.

Haha—sorry, that was GREAT work, not. Grey. Are those tire tracks on that thing?
Lol. I figured that's what you actually meant.

They sure look like tire tracks. I don't know those were. I wondered about that myself. I got it cleaned out whatever it was, along with the sweat stains. Some of the staining I left in on purpose to retain some of the hat's history. The Lounger who sent it to me said that it had a story to tell and that was some of what I wanted to preserve. Aside from everything the hat's been through over the years the felt is still solid. It was a tough built hat.

Good morning. A walkabout earlier this morning found me under the brim of a Stetson Stratoliner Premiere. Cadet Blue is striking in person.

I enjoyed my morning coffee whilst wearing a Stetson Playboy. The felt on this hat is terrific.

Morning errand to the grocery store started with me putting on a Stetson Air Light Playboy. It is unique as it has vents, very light weight felt and a bound edge. Home I started getting some black berries picked, cutting some ruhbarb, starting a pie and going back to pick a handful of red raspberries. Breakfast pie is in my future.

Saturday morning under this Whippet while listening to the interview with erstwhile Stetson employee Antony Catalano:
http://phillyimmigration.nunncenter.net/items/show/865

It seems this fellow Catalano and his family all worked for Stetson from a time before the Great Depression up until the end of the Philadelphia factory. This is a fascinating piece of oral history that is worth a bump so new lounge members can hear it.

Thanks to @BobHufford for posting this interview. I’m sure it’s gotten around the forum on numerous threads and been posted by other members, but he’s the one who posted the link that I ran across.

The sweat band on this Whippet is about to deteriorate so I don’t wear it outside anymore.

A few days in western SD — Badlands, Deadwood, Black Elk Peak. First time out of the house with this Bailey I found a few years ago. The new beaded band and new crease helped. Thought it was fitting to wear playing a concert at Outlaw Square in Deadwood.
