Red plaid/tartan lining for brown leather jacket..?

Trying to figure out a lining for a brown leather jacket, and I have always been partial to a traditional plaid or tartan lining with some red in it, but I know that usually works better with black. So, wondering what you all think about it with a dark brown jacket?

I like this basic buffalo check shown here -- any votes Yea or Nay?

And other other suggestions or pics?

Thanks.

I'm going with nay for the plaid shown. The buffalo plaid is so starkly and jointly colored black and red and done (or black and blue, black and green, you get the idea) that I don't think it works on a brown jacket personally. Red can work if it has brown, purple, blue etc colors with it. Just my thoughts

anything else available?

Tend to agree with comments ^^

My Scheen and HB have quite a bit of red in the plaid lining, but mixed in with blues, greens, browns. Will take photos later to share. The Bootlegger in the Avatar photo has an Olive Cotton drill lining, which I actually like the best in terms of combinations.

As has been pointed out to me, a black jacket is pictured in the OP (not brown)

Absolutely. That's from a black jacket that Dave is currently making. I saw the plaid and liked it, and was just wondering if it might work for a brown jacket. Dave thought not, as do most here. But no problem, lots of other options out there...

Personally I don't much care to mix brown and black; the black is very strong in the lining in the OP, so I wouldn't consider it ideal for a brown jacket - but it's all subjective personal preference. Plenty of people mix borwn and black without a care; I got annoyed with myself the day I inadvertently wore a brown belt with a black jacket. (The joke of that is it was under a sweater, so only me even knew...).

Appreciate all the feedback. One thing that is not my strong suit is color matching. (I am a boots and jacket guy, but otherwise not much fashion oriented.) my main advisor for color matching is my daughter, who agrees with you all on this. So there it is.
