Relaxing at the hotel before we fly to see my wife's sister, husband, daughter and son in law for a few days in Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando. I chose the Stetson Stratoliner in Florentine Milan fire the trip. A little rainy in Portland this afternoon, but 78 - 84 in Florida.

Got a call from Oregon dept of justice on the way here for an interview on a paralegal position... now that would be worth moving to Salem for.

Wow, Michael, great threads from lid to leather. Love that blue felt and tie!
Thanks Doug. The tie is probably the oldest piece of the outfit today. I wanted a bit of spring look, but the weather was a little more late winter. Or that's the way it was feeling to me anyway.

That's a good choice of hats. It has warmed up here in Florida. I really like the color. Congratulations on the interview.

Just picked up this boater from Ignacio's. It was a little tight, now I barely feel it, even though it's rigid. It turned out so nice I regret giving him a cheap sweatband for it, instead of one from @bond

Alright! I’ll be expecting to see you in a seersucker suit this summer.
I don’t know why the boater/skimmer isn’t more popular.

I will have to look up what a seersucker suit is... A stupid voyeur's apparel?

Oh. I see now. Well, I only own three suits, Brent, and dislike dressing up, so you should stop expecting. [emoji2]

Seersucker and linen are summer staples. I really do enjoy wearing both when the weather heats up. You’d look quite dapper with the boater and the right summer suit; don’t knock it until you’ve given it a fair shake.

I’ll be taking this Premier Stratoliner for her maiden voyage today. Got this hat yesterday, and I’m really impressed by the soft and light felt on this new Stetson. I guess it shows that Stetson or Hatco or whomever is making these can still put out a pretty sweet lid. This is with an off-the-cuff dry bash. I’ll walk her around a bit and then give it some steam. I like the cattleman crease on this hat...a Cattoliner!

What kind of straw are you thinking about?
Johnny

Well, I'm not exactly sure yet, either as to color, or brim size. I did have a favorite jungle hat that I wore while fishing and paddling the kayak. Probably just see if I can find another for woodsy stuff, and then get a nice white summer hat for casual relaxing.

Brim sizing would run somewhere between these 2 hats as a scale of too big and too small. Goldilocks is closer to the smaller end, rather than the the larger.

A more cold day with brigth sun, more spingtime than hotter days of last week

Etablissements Ecuyer & Thomas - Chazelles s/ Lyon, homburg (diplomatique) made in France before the WWII
ay94k3.jpg

No other indications, neither paper label, only the size 6o cm or 6 1/2 for the French hats mesurements
15zlik1.jpg

The felt is very thin and soft and the color is a violet-burgundy
bgntaa.jpg

Proportions are generous: brim at 6,5 cm and crown at 11,5 cm, no lining only a tip

The wisteria on my back is starting to flourish, in some days it will be complete
Thanks for all the likes and kind words of the last week
