Greetings All:
Today....Mom took a pic of Lo and Bo on her way out for Mom time.
So...a rare standing still pic of her Stetson 3X Last Drop Sandhiller from Uncle @BobHufford and a Stetson Premier Panama for me.
Be well. Bowen

Super photo B. You both look great in your respective hats.

I didn't know you were the elegant type. Hmmm. I prefer golf clothes all the time. Vive la liberté!!!

I am wearing my best Stratoliner today. The seller said it was pristine, and it is. One of my best hats.

I had to go gaze at that baby some more, Max. It is pristine, and the leather could have sonnets written to it.
Since wearing a nicely shaped, but inexpensive, straw "Panama" and getting compliments, to pulling out the wool Indy I had been too self conscious to go out in public wearing, then springing for a $50 Scala fedora at Amazon, learning about fur felt, buying my first eBay vintage, a couple more, etc., I thought reeded sweatbands were the evidence of a better hat. I started noticing that cheap hat's trying to look like better hats would have fake leather, AND fake reeds!
In the last year, with my first Borsalino, Mallory and Selco, I realized that a great sweat didn't need to have a reed. A well built hat and band could even be more comfortable with the leather sewn to the felt. I'm guessing that Stratoliner is a joy to wear.
So why were you looking so grumpy?
Did they change your tee time?

I was waiting for Ana to finally be ready to leave. Makes me grumpy. When we finally did leave, we had a good time, though. It was a nice Sunday

Good.
When they make you wait, it's usually worth it. You look much happier later, and the hat looks just as good.

Not a headshot of me, but of our esteemed member Mike @Redfokker . He's been sorely missed lately and I've been in contact with him to see how he's doing.
As many of you know he's been having severe back problems and has undergone surgery for that. Under the circumstances he's doing well and he sends his best to all of us at the lounge. The circumstances being that he broke a few bones (two ribs and a bone in his hand) when he took a nasty fall on his driveway about two weeks ago. He was less nimble than his usual self due to his recovery from the back surgery and seemed to have been more concerned about his Borsalino featherweight than for his own safety (I'm sure many of us can relate to that). The back surgery has gone well, but it takes time to recover and this fall doesn't really help. Pins need to be put in the break on his hand. In his own words: "it sucks to be me."
He misses the lounge and he hopes to be able to write some lines again here himself soon. I for one wish him a good and speedy recovery and hope to see the same smile as below as soon as possible here again. For the record: Mike is wearing a Borsalino in this picture.

Good evening. Home and gazing at the hat posts. Great hats folks.

This afternoon a Pendleton and a VS (Stratoliner inspired dove beaver felt) and I were out and about.

This evening a 40's Towncraft tie and a 40's Stetson spent time listening to a couple friends play the acoustic blues.

Great hats, as always, Eric. That looks like THE tie for out listening to the blues. I'm feeling the blues coming on because it ain't mine!

Thanks for the update, Stefan. Great photo of Mike. The FL's rooting for him to make a speedy recovery. He's sorely missed on here.

I barely met Mike because he was already retreating from the lounge due to his back pain when I joined. I feel for him. It is no fun when you hurt seemingly out of the blue and some days are worse than others.
I'm 61, and he's got to be somewhere in my general generation. When it hurts to do the things you always did without a thought, or you find out you can't even do them anymore, it can send you into quite a funk.
The fall has to be one of those, "No. Not this too! Why me, Lord?" But bones usually heal on schedule, even with pins. They diagnosed and did the repairs on his spine. He may not have been out playing football, but he was protecting that Borsalino, and players do get injuries in the game. He's involved in theater, and they always say, "Break a leg!"
I'll send up a prayer for his low spirits, and also raise a toast for his quick recovery.
Cheers!
