Took only one hat with me on tour in the Black Hills this week, and decided to spend my hat budget on a pair of boots while on the road.
You’re likely to be seeing a lot of this Greeley Hat Works Western homburg in the next several days. made a few friends along the way. One sad brown bear cub, in particular, looked like he could use a little cheering up. I think the hat helped for a moment.

Good Morning gang. I had to work today and wore in the first Twenty Five I had gotten. I have never been real thrilled with the crease, as the front pinch area is dirty & weak, from previous owners bad habits no doubt. Also, I had got a small cheap clothes steamer off the bay, and wanted to try it out. It actually worked fairly well, not an abundance of steam, but enough to do the job. Some of the old creases till show a bit, but hey! I got it with the idea of portability, and I can use it in the garage instead of tying up the wife's stove, which is a good thing, right?!
So I shifted the front crease into a Gus of sorts, and am relatively happy with the hat for the time being. You can see the steamer in one of the pics. I also have tried my hand at doing some ribbons, and have put one on the hat as a trial to see how I like it too. SO to the pics.....

Nice work!
If you ever reblock it, switch the front to the back. You'll never see that weak stuff again.
Let that A-hole in your rear view mirror who keeps honking his horn look at it.

First of all, my congratulations to all those who, in the summer months, have kept alive the "tradition" of wearing hats.
Many were wonderful, so compliments fellow loungers.
I have bad news to give you: 90% of the photos I posted were "hosted" by tinypics who died, erasing most of the photos in my posts:( so those with needs to see my pictures can request them, they are all saved in my database and with patience can resurface :)
Finally weather allows us, in northest Italy, to wear felt hats, which I repeat, are my favorites

Today I wear a very recent arrival: modern Tonak with a suede and raw brim finish. Firs and third pictures have the right color

It is a great product that with a few touches could become splendid. The felt is of excellent quality, as well as the ribbon and the finishes, some perplexity on the shape, but it can be remedied

Bearing in mind that the suede finish is available only from some hatters and Tonak have around five different hats with this felt finish

Have a nice Saturday and my game is started again ;)
I always like your pics, Daniele. You look like the happy hat wearer, and share awesome headwear. Some of us look like somebody pissed in our Wheaties, and others look like they're up to something (you know who you are).
You come across like the rare man with no guile. I would trust you with my wife and bank passcodes.

Oh shucks, i’d like to take credit for the curl but it’s been there 80-90 yrs or so. Lol
I started in on the No.1 from yesterday but didn’t get far. Gotta admit after starting i was quickly thinking about a curling shackle.

Look into that curling setup Brent ordered. It inspired me to throw together a very hamhanded white trash cousin version, and I did a curl that impressed even me (who was that masked man?) my first try.
Just wait until I post what I F-ed up Saturday.

Thanks for the nice words. I wear hats happy and with a smile because life is beautiful and as long as we are here to share it I don't see why I should have a pissed nose. Being here is a way to share a passion and doing it in a grim way is not like me. Thank you for your trust and understanding

Not a headshot of me, but of our esteemed member Mike @Redfokker . He's been sorely missed lately and I've been in contact with him to see how he's doing.
As many of you know he's been having severe back problems and has undergone surgery for that. Under the circumstances he's doing well and he sends his best to all of us at the lounge. The circumstances being that he broke a few bones (two ribs and a bone in his hand) when he took a nasty fall on his driveway about two weeks ago. He was less nimble than his usual self due to his recovery from the back surgery and seemed to have been more concerned about his Borsalino featherweight than for his own safety (I'm sure many of us can relate to that). The back surgery has gone well, but it takes time to recover and this fall doesn't really help. Pins need to be put in the break on his hand. In his own words: "it sucks to be me."
He misses the lounge and he hopes to be able to write some lines again here himself soon. I for one wish him a good and speedy recovery and hope to see the same smile as below as soon as possible here again. For the record: Mike is wearing a Borsalino in this picture.

Thanks for the update on Mike, Stefan. I was thinking about him just this morning and wondering how he was doing. And if you see this, Mike, I had a broken rib last autumn, so I can empathize with you on what that takes out of you. Hope the back repairs do the job for you.

Dobbs Hanover Square on a lovely cool morning.
