You might be crossing a line here. Invoking something so horrific in such a flippant and casual way as a joke might not be in the best taste. Just a thought.

Perhaps, Brent. Focualt's hat barbarity certainly doesn't rise anywhere near the level of Mengele's human barbarity. I assumed this was so self evident that no offence could be taken, but also know tact is not my strong suit. Point taken, and I will attempt to restrain myself going forward.

Yes, coincidence. A friend of my bought another hat from this seller. I contacted the seller too and he told me he had another 2 hats for sale in 58. So he had my attention :D
Did you ever heard of the 2 brands Stefan?
Can't say I have. Most of the time the hats on the Dutch vintage market are of German origin. Their production was vast and so was the number of brands they put on the market.

Today’s another overcast forties Dobbs Westward kind of melancholy Sunday.
Had to wear my favorite fedora to liven up my spirit. Well, everyday can’t be a party and things could be worse. Been there, so I know. We all have. Got my health and my hats... and now I have y’all.
Feel better already. Thanks, Fedora Lounge. Well, this morning’s Church service helped a little, too. [emoji56]
This hat came to me,inexpensively, through eBay with a deteriorated sweat and ribbon. I replaced the sweat band years ago(this time correctly) with a Singer brand product. I think that was the name of it, anyway. Nice quality, but too thick and heavy for a light weight hat. wish I had kept and cut out the old logos and put them behind the sweat as y’all are talking about. Oh well.
The ribbon and bow came out decent, but I can do better these days. Put an old Dobbs carriage pin in the bow and I absolutely love this hat! The hat body is thin and crisp and blemish free. 2 3/4 brim width, 4 5/8 crown height to the center crease giving it, to me, perfect dimensions. Love the milk chocolate color.
Guess I’ll get up and work on a hat that needs some attention. That may also help to put a shine on the dullsville blues.
Hey! That could be a great song hook!
Maybe I’ll grab my guitar and work on that instead. I Think I feel kinda awesome all of a sudden. Thanks again, Loungers. You guys are the best!

The Ecuyer&Thomas were high end producer of hats in France. Not so famous like Flechet, Tirard or Mossant, they were "la crème" along with Thibet and J&B of the ancient hats producers in France.
Hope to see it in a more detailled post, for the other hat I have no knowledge

Great lid, Randall.
Sewing in reeded sweats is tedious, but not that challenging.
I have a featherweight and Selco in need of direct sewn leather. I'm intimidated.

No, challenging it isn’t. Getting around to actually doing it is the hard part. That said, Let us see the results when you find a round tuit and the courage to sew in your reedless sweat! [emoji46]
Better you, than me. Good luck [emoji256]

Great catch, Max. I'm very curious about these hankachif felts and how they compare to other lightweight hats. Full report when it arrives please!
It is practically the same as the other lightweights, Stefan. I don't feel it lighter than, say, my Knapp felt. How could it be? They weigh so little.
