The third of my trio of hats via Stefan. My favourite of the three, though I love them all. A Borsalino Qualità Speciale. Great shape, colour, feel of the felt, ribbon treatment, and overall look. Borsalino at its best imo.

Man, Bama! You’ve got an endless line of enviable hats and boots!!! I guess I need to include a pair in my next pic. But right now I only own two pair, not counting my Justin work boots. I’ve got a pair of bull hide Noconas that were one of the featured pairs in their painted series of advertisements.
the mysterious guy with the, “Let’s Rodeo” ring doing daily ranch things like, branding steer and cutting off a rattlers head with a Bowie knife, etc. remember those?
Of all the different brands of quality boots I’ve worn through, Nacona is my fav.
Love the blue hue on today’s hat!

Great hats, but I have to say that overcoat is a real knock out!

The best velours came from the continent. I was just petting a 60s/70s Velour Stingies and they were still making superior hats and finishes even during this late period. Your example is of course is incredible Alan.

Thanks Joe, I did get some looks from the general public.

I like that color a lot. I don't do Westerns as a rule, but this one could bring me over to the dark side!

Nothing but class Jeff! Great lines and details on this Italian beauty.

We are coming into the "envy" your summer season Fabio. Always love the Mallory.

That gray has a "creamy" tone to it on my monitor. Love the brim dimensions. I do lust after your double breasted overcoat though. I have lost over 50 pounds during my pain ordeal and lost a coat size or two. Maybe, just maybe I'll find one like this as my size requirements are not so enormous. Does my hear good to see this look.
Thanks Red! I call this Pawnee a hybrid. I'm not really into Western hats, but this one fits a bit different than a big cowboy hat. I'm a big fan of the Stetson Gun Club collection and this one fits in that group, in my opinion of course [emoji275]

Very cool. I have a pair of Nocona bull hide from that era too. They are my riding boots when I'm out on the Harley. Tough as nails, comfy, and good looking.

Than you, Randall. Vintage Nocona's are a fine boot and those art boxes are great. Several of the folks around here have some of those boxes but unfortunately I threw everyone away that I ever had. Great art work on those.

After three days of continuous rain, a semi flooding of the garages and a terrible cold, today the sun has come to dry Italy
BaNero 4R.jpg

I take this opportunity to wear a Barbisio Qualità Extra
BaNero 9R.jpg

Barbisio size 6 or 59 cm Export Qualitat
BaNero 6R.jpg

It is a homburg with the pleated ribbon and the brim edged, the color, of course, is black on black
BaNero 2R.jpg

Sold in Munich - Germany, it is light and very elegant. It is part of an exchange with Stefan which I thank

Have a nice day!
Thanks for showing your hats, they were a good remedy, between one sneeze and another

For that hat, definitely up, Pellie.
Last night I finally decided that two of my hats would make good candidates for the flipped up campaign.
And...
You look good in the revived upward turn
trend. Actually , I’m surprised that I’m ready to join in on the switch... for a few hats, anyway.

Thanks for your comment. I like the brim up too by this hat. Not used to it, because i always wear brims down. Maybe i have to give it a try and twist my mindset :)

Yeah, unfortunately I threw all mine out too except the one I posted above from my Kangaroo pair. Only thing that saved that one is my wife using it for the Christmas Stockings.....

I noticed after I posted it that the back has small pictures of all of the different artwork. I'll try to post that later.

I've been up to the Nacona factory several times over the years, lot's of history there.

How far can a man travel on appearance? Terrific '45 Esquire advertisement by Stetson.

i-BzdDGRT-M.jpg

The ad copy shows an Alpine Blue Stratoliner fedora. Stetson retailed a powder blue Stratoliner in the same decade. This morning I was out and about in a Cadet Blue Premier Stratoliner from a similar time period. The under-brim pic better showcases the felt hue. This unlined blue hat I have had on my hat rack for a few years and it is a fav to wear.

i-kjfV3BJ-M.jpg

This Premier version of the Stratoliner has brim dimensions of 2 .5".

I do not wear the pin on the hat. In a strong wind the pin (attached to the bow) bangs on the hat crown. During the winter I will have to reattach it.
