Nice. Looks good on you. How did you do the stretching? did you have to moisturize the sweat band?

Thanks, Johnny.
I’m not sure if I did it “right” but, yes, I used a leather conditioner as someone (@Silver-Wolf, I think) recommended.
It was my first time using a hat stretcher, so I was pretty cautious but for a few days, every time I tried it on, it would seem good at first but gradually start to put the squeeze on my head (front & back).
Even when I got more aggressive and warped the shape while it was on the stretcher, it still put the squeeze on. In the end, I put it back on the stretcher so it was being warped again. Then the next day, I loosened the stretcher to the point where warping was minimal and I steamed it, let it dry and took the stretcher out. It seems good for now.

Looks great on you.
Thanks. Got it off an ebayer from Gilmore, TX about ten years ago. Bought a couple Dobbs from her and she tossed it in the box with them as a gift. Fits better than any custom I've ever had made and the proportions are perfect for my melon, 7 1/2+1/16th extra long oval. Thin as construction paper and ideal stiffness.

Wow, Max, that's a really cool hat. Where did you dig that one up from? I'm a real fan of Loro Piano. Definitely a keeper.
I saw it on eBay, Reggie. It was a woman's hat, and had a grosgrain sweatband. The brim looked wide enough that I could enlarge the hat without it being too narrow, and I trusted the Loro Piana brand to provide an excellent felt.
It was new with tags, and the price on them was $1200. I bought it for $250, and Ignacio reblocked it for me.
There are some men's Loro Piana hats on eBay right now, priced at 250.
