Thanks Randall! I got another hat recently with a tattered ribbon like that -- how does that happen? I just added this one to the Lot **XX thread. Although the number is a bit hard to read.

I think all those bow ends got frayed like that while driving too darn fast in them crazy horseless carriages with them there fancy canopies folded down!

1927 ad (thanks @DaveProc). This hat may be from 1929 (the only ad I found for "Tropic Weight").
