Break is not a terminology that I am familiar with. Do you mean width? As in the amount of material used? It was a style much favoured in the 1930's, but only by those with the income to indulge themselves.
Now I understand. What my wife Tina does, when she makes my trousers, is to leave a little bit of room in the seat of the pants to allow for movement, or if I'm honest, weight gain. To support the trousers I wear braces/suspenders, it seems that the adjusters were set too low, I like to wear the hemline so that it's just about touching the shoe laces. You can get a better understanding in these photos of my maroon pants, (and big belly) hence the allowance for movement.

Perfect USNPS Eric!!A dog walk in a new to me USNPS hat. I debated picking this hat up. I purchase hats to wear. I do not pick-up hats to view or stack on shelves. My choice and preference. I thought the hat would be fun and the big brim would offer some grand protection. A large part of acquisition was that this is a nutria felt.
The felt needs a cleaning and a steaming. I have delayed the "outside hat work" as I will need to re-sew the leather sweat on. The threads are very weak.
I will wear this hat more.
A quick car wash and coffee shop errand found me wearing an unlined Knox Vagabound.
Darn it! I got home and needed to head back out and pick-up more stuff from my wife's clinic as our dog tangled with a skunk. All good, except for the offensive smell. Fortunately the dog got sprayed on it's rear quarters. (Fortunate as the odor is hard to wash off from the head. ) I used up the skunk odor wash with 3 thorough washes. I started washing within minutes of the dog getting sprayed. This has happened before to other dogs we have owned. I stripped down to my undergarment and have been wearing rubber gloves while washing the dog.
I have washed the dog with a de-odor product. I believe the wash count over the last hour + is five. Basically it is a hydrogen peroxide solution, 1/4 baking soda and some dish soap. We have a dog wash shower in our walk-in porch. The dog and I have been cleaning for well over an hour. Almost all the odor is gone at this moment.
The dog and I will stay outside for a few hours and I suspect will be subject to another cleaning. I do not smell skunk odor, but my smell may be compromised. My wife put some human hair conditioner out for me to add to the dog's coat after the last wash.I look up from this phone post and see my dog jumping off the dock into the water chasing a duck. The smell obviousely is not a problem for my Port.Water Dog.
