I am not waiting on any hat today but had the thought; is there a thread or somewhere the question would fit best......"What is the next hat you are saving up for?"......or "trying to narrow the field and make a damned choice". Then once ordered it could be transferred to this thread.

"What is the next hat you are saving up for?" sounds like a great thread. May I suggest you start it?

A nice little history of the Bowler, sir, or the Coke (pronounced Cook) after the man who commissioned it.
This is why The Lounge is so addictive. Steve points out a trivial nicety, worded so that it's not possible to think one is being corrected. You would think that someone who grew up knowing that the name Cholmondeley is pronounced Chumley, would know that the name Coke is pronounced Cook. Trouble is, Coca Cola, or as it's better known, Coke, has a lot to answer for.

F. Witzleben Leipzig, possibly late 1920s early 1930s.

My reply was not in any way, shape, or form an attempt to correct you, dear sir. It was more an attempt at adding to the enjoyment of the addictive trivia for the edification of our fellow Loungers. Not to mention communicating with a fellow Brit in our own idiosyncratic way :)

Adam Executive - The E-VENT
Light Pecan Colored Ultra Light Felt
4 3/4 crown as shaped - about 5 1/2 open
Unlined and vented
2 5/8 brim with very short underwelt
Two rows of brim stitching
3/4 inch matching grosgrain ribbon
Box pleat/gills treatment

The latest arrival, which came off a hot tip from Brent @deadlyhandsome, is the Adam Executive - E-Vent. It was without a doubt the unusual ribbon styling with a decorative wind trolley button sewn on for good measure along with the cool vent pattern that caught my eye. But upon arrival there is so much more to love. This unlined felt is super soft and ultra thin. That sort of “blow a crease in it” kind of felt… but somehow incredibly obedient. The brim is 2 5/8 with a narrow underwelt and two rows of brim stitching. I couldn’t tell if the E-Vent sweat cooling system really worked… but it did FEEL like it was cooler.. may have been my imagination. It really is an Exquisite hat that fits absolutely perfectly. Thank you again Brent for thinking of me on this one.

I believe this one will be getting some wear in the main rotation here is sunny South Florida.

I’m so jealous of that’n, Joe! That’s one ventilator we could all want to be attached to! Love the color and the vented sweatband and the decorative side vents and the bow and the proportions and and airythang!

Excellent grey, Mike, and a striking interior!
Bond, James Bond...went to see the latest 007 movie this morning. An English Bowler was worn as a nod to the early bond years. Sadly, hats are no where to be found in the current films. Although Bond wore Locke & Co. hats, and wonderful 1960s stingy brim hats at that, I do not own any from this maker. I have a large number of British vintage hats, mostly 1950s homburgs, but the bowler seemed to be the most "British" for today. This Dunn & Co. gray stiff felt was probably made in the early 1960s, when Bowlers were making a comeback. The liner is a real looker on this one.

I'm a sucker for those earth tones, Danielle.

Small note of apology for those who send me positive messages about hats worn or shown. I realize that I am often late with the answers or completely absent, I apologize and I undertake to be more present in contacts

What better day than October to give light and air to the new creation of Fleur

Borsalino felt worked and completely finished in the Netherlands

The result is this and despite a red dominant given by the bricks of the house, the "Cream" felt remains fairly neutral, as well as the ribbon
