On the Tenth Day of StingyMas…

Can an homburg or a bowler be considered a stingy? Well here is one of each with tiny brims…

Julius Garfinckel and Co homburg. Gifted to me by @Rmccamey some time back. Ya know come to think of the brim binding on this one is so stingy it might almost be a lords hat.

Tress and Co Brown Bowler…. About as short a brim as you will find on a bowler

I just bought this on a coffee cup for my Boss, I work for an electric cooperative. Were you an electrician or in the power industry?

Nah, nothing like that. Reddy was more prominent in advertising, etc. when I was a kid, so I remember him from that. There used to be a power station you'd pass on I-75 south of town that had a 2-3 storey Reddy Kilowatt bolted to the side of the building. I always thought he was pretty cool.

Looks great, Steve.
I’m just trying to think of the description one of the Lounger’s granddaughter’s used. Not fuzzy…was it cuddly? Can’t remember. Either way, that’s a lovely fuzzy cuddly hat.
Sorry to hear you can’t get back to see family in the Mother Country (as my grandparents used to call it). I haven’t made it back to New Zealand for nearly nine years. We are keen to get over to Europe at some stage, but our first trip after the Covid thing settles down will likely be to New Zealand.

Thanks Gary.
Ja, it will be nice to be able to travel again without worrying about covid.
Great looking Stingymas Borsalino BTW. I too can recommend Foyle's War. Apart from it being a very well made police series, it's a period piece set in WWII London with lots of wonderful hats and clothes of the day to admire :)

Morning escapades in a VS thin ribbon fedora (dove beaver felt with ribbon treatment inspired by the venerable Stratoliner).

Cheers, Eric -
So, Eric, it was your Strat look-a-like that inspired Esther when she made me something similar. I should have known that such a hat aficionado's superb lid is what the lady had in mind:

I am humbled sir. Grand hat that you have proudly worn the past couple of years.

I headed to work this morning wearing a vintage Stetson Playboy. It is a hat that I gallivant proudly under.
