P&C Top hat. That's not Habig, but the Dutch (originally from Germany) retailer Peek&Cloppenburg. Still located on Dam square in Amsterdam to this day. This one was made by Spoorenberg, who produced toppers under different brand names, mainly Burton and Ambassador. I bought this one because it's a size 60 and these things are rare in larger sizes. Brim at 6cm and 14cm high. Excellent condition except for some waviness on the sweatband. PM me if you're interested.

I suspect it will be green hats all around today, but there are other (better
) ways to go to celebrate St Patrick's day. A hat in the colour of Guiness for example and a different nod to Ireland.
Dublin homburg hat in black. Size 56 with the brim at 6cm and the crown at 10,5cm at the center dent. Model is called Basel and the quality is called Poniko. I need another black homburg like I need a hole in my head, but I couldn't resist. The label is by W&G Schuchart, a wholeseller who likely sourced from Wegener. Sláinte!

An big old western from Montgomery Ward (late 1920s). The "Round Up" model. 7-1/2" crown, 5" brim. It doesn't fit me (like advertised), but does fit my wife. Although she is a bit intimidated by it.

Stylepark with the "Sanither" sweat band. Trademarked in 1935 and renewed in 1948. All the ads I've seen are from 1935 and "Sanither" doesn't seem to be mentioned in advertising after "Templeform" became the focus in 1937/38.

A Whippet-style fedora of unknown make, 2 3/4 inch brim, which I rescued a month or so ago on eBay for $80. It had no sweatband or liner, the ribbon was trying to come off, and it seemed someone had used it while painting- had paint droplets on it. Sent it to Randall Renshaw to rebuild. Can't believe it's the same hat. First photo is "before", others are "after". The liner is one that Randall had sitting around and isn't meant to imply the hat's maker.

In recent arrivals, very few compared to other periods, I have focused on the last fires of Italian hat making before its almost total disappearance
Today we consider a Barbisio, certainly made by Cappellificio Cervo with a tacky pin to diminish its sharp line.
The hat has a medium textured brown felt and the ribbon is low and the proportions of the hat are "generous" for a product put on the market in fairly recent years.
Lined, it has a fabric sweatband and is very easy to wear, the size is 59 centimeters or 7 3/8 in US.
These are the measurements, the raw brims are 6 cm, the ribbon is 1.5 cm, unusual for a hat made in Italy, and the crown fully open is 13cm.
I found a source for these late hats from the Italian production, I hope it continues to generate interesting hats
