We have a 3 day camp out & living history event coming up where I will be wearing my Akubra Territory Civil War/Planters hat.

I’ve been trying to get some natural distressing to it.

And the original I pretty much cloned from.

You look the part but you need to put some miles on that Territory. It’s just hard to beat up an Akubra. I’ve never participated in a living history event but it sounds very interesting. And Lord knows I love me some camping! Take a bunch of pics at that event and share them with us.

Not a Whippet, but a whip stitched Dobbs Gay Prince while dropping off a hat at the post office for a trade with a fellow Lounger:

Stratton Hats The Lawman in Forest Green Milan Straw

Another one a bit too big. I picked up this hat and yesterday’s Dobbs VVL earlier this summer on my quest to fulfill my end of the trade with John @moehawk before we settled on a Vanzina he had his eye on. Havn‘t decided to move it on or not…. I wonder how it would respond to attempting to steam in a front pinch.

You're getting waaaaay too many great hats, my friend :)
LOL - thanks Randy!

You're right, it's an embarrassment of riches. I buy them thinking, "this will be perfect on the truck." Never mind I already have 15 others that would do just as well.

The 3x still awaits its maiden voyage, btw. It's still too warm, but he and I have become fast friends around the house.

Thanks for the comment. We will be driven in, no personal vehicles or modern convinces like propane, tents, phones or laptops allowed. The public will be allowed in Sat & Sun during the day. I may get some pics early the first afternoon before it starts. We used to do some of this more regularly before the Covid lockdown a few yrs ago.

Dalton on the way to mail a hat trade to my good friend, Jonathan. GP for a Gu.
Only real hat people may know which hats those are, though the Gu may take some thought.

Dusted the 10x off today.

These 70s-era Stetsons get no love around the Lounge, but this is a great hat for what it is: super soft and super rugged. I think they stitched it with fishing wire.

If it weren’t so darn big, I’d definitely take it in the semi.

As things stand, this should probably be filed under “Hats I wear but not out of the house.”

Reluctantly, though. I reluctantly don’t wear it.

I like it. If you were driving that rig in a movie… I bet it might be a hat of choice.
