Thanks, Brent. Did our T. Jones have something to do with that hat?

Yes, sir! He made it for me and he did a fantastic job! I’m back in his queue for several more too. Top tier work at fantastic prices…how could I resist? He has some projects in the works for other TFL members and he has some unclaimed felt hat bodies in stock for immediate orders. If you’re interested, the FEPSA in flagstone (blue-gray) looks terrific.

T. Is a hat magician. I’m glad to learn he is sharing his talents and has a hat business. I guess I’m going have to get in the queue, because I want one of those bad boys !

Some really nice, clean hats lately!

Let’s fix that. :p

Today’s installment of Bob’s Beater Hats (TM) is a 1940s or early 1950s Royal Stetson DeLuxe Flagship after the first of what may be many attempts to clean it.

The non-Petersham ribbon version with an under-welt brim.

It may look rough, but at 7-1/2 LO I’ll take what I can get.

What a transformation! Great job.
Your beaters would take pride of place among my collection.

Bob just casually presenting this Flagship as a beater after his amazing cleanup job!! What a hat!!

Thanks Joe and Gary!

The felt did get better, but there is still that chunk out of the leather, the ribbon stains and the … ugh … liner.

Taking photos of a few hats in one of my normal spots when I had a visitor:

This Coyote got within 15 feet of me which is very unusual. He eventually trotted off, but he never seemed concerned. Made me wonder if coyote fur would make a decent fur felt for hats…?
He was saying why is that guy taking pictures of himself in a hat.

This hat is perfect Bob. Great cleanup transformation. Classic daily driver not a “no touch” trailer queen.
