What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

View attachment 752068 Day 2 of the Federation IV into work. Some wet-fitting and a little warmth to soften and fit my head better, it’s feeling less like a helmet and more comfortable overall. And given that today it’s -2 *C out, the added warmth of thick felt is noticeable.

Somewhat self conscious but also can’t help but like it, especially since the dimensional brim gives good protection without looking overly wide, so while I’m open to others opinions I’m thinking that it’s actually a fairly proportional fit.
Great proportion and taper for you IMO. Good pick, Good job!

I’m glad you posted this! I’m in queue for one of these. Maybe just a week or two away from production. Needless to say, I like that hat!!!
I can't wait to see yours, there are a few on the forum that I admired before I got this one. I know you'll enjoy it!
Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! Nice one, Simeon!!!!
Thank you Mark!
Sometimes I miss my days in the Puget Sound.... damp and grey for 8 months of the year. Now that Im back in East Texas I whine when its rainy for a week. Stay dry my friend
We are on the east side of the cascades, normally we get lots of sun so I really dont have that much to complain about, it's just that time of year.

On October 17 he was two months out. I'm in queue with money paid down so I have given him space to work. But I check my email about 60 times a day to see if there's anything from him lol. I'll be stepping out of my comfort zone a bit with this one. It'll take some time to build the confidence to wear it out and about, but I've been down that road with other hats and it has worked out fine, so no fear.
I was the same when my time was drawing close for a Gannon. It was a three month wait back then, and if I remember right, the email came very close to the three month mark.

So does this mean you're getting a highwayman? I'm very intrigued!

Yep, a Highwayman! It will be a Dress/Western weight felt. A hybrid between dress weight and western weight. Fawn will be the color. I'm asking for a couple of modifications from his standard Highwayman. He may add a bit more curl to the brim edge and drop the front just a tad at the break. I think ithe standard for that hat is about 3" after the pencil curl but I wouldn't mind if it's a bit shorter. I wouldn't want less than 2 3/4" though.
