If Adventurebilt makes the official Indy hat , then Dorfman Pacific had better stop making their Indy Hat as well.

Who makes the hat for the movie, and who has the license to marketing the hat are usually two different companies.

I'm imagining that, with this article now posted on the net, that COW will now permit talk about the Hat's supposed maker. Assuming, of course, that this isn't another "mis-statement."

Some of us know the truth... the question is; does everybody now know?

Dorfman is the officially LICENSED lid, the ones they sell at Disneyland/world, different than the hats made by the suppliers Nothing has changed here, we have the licensed Dorfmans and the hat made by the official supplier of the movie hats.

COW is

COW is short for Club Obi Wan, a site for everything you want to know or need about Indiana Jones. The fedoralounge is an offshoot of that site. One of the key members there, MK, started this one. Take a look, a lot of nice folks there who are into everything Indy.

Does this make it 'official' now?

Somehow, I don't think so. The website appears to be an unofficial fan site:

"As a fansite, we have absolutely no affiliation with Mr. Spielberg, Amblin Entertainment, DreamWorks SKG, Paramount Pictures, or any other business entities owned or operated by Steven Spielberg."

Good catch, though, RBH!

Cheers,

Best as I can tell, this announcement should not be taken as official or true. Until there is an official press release (which there is supposed to be), no report of any vendor for the Indy 4 hat should be considered valid. We would all (or most all) like to see an AB on Indy's head, but we just won't know the truth until we are meant to.

Well said NB-13, I should have read the site a little closer. I just saw this and was excited.

Steve stopped selling his rabbit fur fedora's quite some time ago. He only wanted to go with the best felt available and rabbit wasn't it. The Deluxe's are a bit more money but if you were to buy the same quality hat from a store it would be around $800 at least. Seriously, it would be that much. We are a bit spoiled here on the lounge with Art, Steve and Marc providing such high quality products for the price they charge. But a quick visit to other custom hatters can give one a wake up call to what a deal they are giving us.

I guess I was just comparing the price of two Campdrafts for that price...Sorry...Just thrown by the price and the rabbit being dropped. That is so great that AB is supplying the hats to the new Indy!:eusa_clap
