Just finished previewing "The Way We Get By," a beautifully-made documentary about the local troop-greeters who make a point of welcoming every military plane that arrives from Iraq at Bangor International Airport here in Maine. It's a very moving portrait of honest patriotism in action -- with a specific focus on an elderly WW2 veteran reflecting on his own life and facing up to its impending close. A superb film -- we're showing it tonight with the filmmakers and many of the troop-greeters present, and it'll be shown on PBS as part of the P.O.V. documentary series this coming November. Don't miss it -- it's well worth your time.
