That is an incredible suit! Did Bladen 1917 make it to your bespoke specifications entirely, or was it based on a made-to-measure model? Also, how padded are the shoulders?
Way to go! It looks fantastic!
This is a stupid question I'm sure, but could someone explain exactly what it means when folks talk about a rearward sloping shoulder in terms of 1920s suits?
That is a great suit! I've been wanting to try to get something like it made (early 20's Hart Schafer Marx). Mind posting some more photos of it being worn that offer a better look at the cut?
Thanks!
I'm curious to see if there are many other FLers who are interested in Japan and Japanese culture and society, particularly in the 1910's up through the Golden Era (Taisho to early Showa periods, 1910s to 30's).
I know some folks had posted on here regarding Japan a few years ago and the...
Hey, everyone. Can anyone recommend a good brand and model of new fedora made in the 1920's to early 30's style? I'm thinking of the untapered, high crown, medium brim sort.
THANKS!
Yeah, I'm also on the market for a sack suit (or quality reproduction), but despite my forays of interest in that era I can't abandon the 20's and 30's. They're all so good in their own ways.
Papperskatt: That's what I did and I really warmed up to it. Thanks! Just needs a littler altering...
Yeah, that's the one. It's 20 inches across under the armpits and 16 inches across the shoulders (bear in mind they're of the 1920's narrow variety).
I'm guessing this is very early 20's?
Help!
I need you guys' expert opinion. I just got this suit from ebay. Having never owned a 20's suit before I jumped at the chance and it arrived today. However, something seems so weird about it. Maybe it just doesn't fit me well? The way it tapers seems really bizarre. The chest seems rather...

This is awesome IMHO.
Found this on the blog of a Japanese clothing shop called BRYWB in Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Apparently they pronounce it BRY-OOB. I need to go there sometime...
INCREDIBLE! You make those as a hobby? Your work is amazing!
While I'm a huge fan of the 20's style the suit on the right is an example, IMHO, of how it can sometimes not work. It just looks frumpy on him. Don't know if that's the suit, his body type, or just the way he's standing...
When attempting a narrow shoulder today, many designers seem merely to go with less padding, although I think the 1920's way of doing it (with less padding AND more of the shoulder in the sleevehead as opposed to the body of the suit) is a much better look.
A lot of loungers have posted photos...

If the buyer is on FL, would you be interested in selling it for more than you paid for it?
Also, anyone have any leads on anything similar?
Thanks.
Nice spear point collar shirt! Do you know of a good source for them?
I ask because I recently got my first ever collar bar, which I love, but the only spear point collar shirt I have is one of my dad's and it's way too baggy for me. I've had a hard time finding any.
It's possible. The suit was really expensive, so it might be worth it relative to the overall value, if it's even possible to do that without ruining the suit.
