Adam Envoy photos
Here are three shots that might help:

These will have to do for now -- my ISP connection died and I'm online now through a 3G card that's pretty slow here in the boonies. The power is probably next.
I'll post photos as soon as possible. I can tell you it has a United Hatters, Cap & Millinery Workers Union label. Also, the brown paper Adam tag says the hat is actually Navy (I can't tell in the gray light streaming through the window). The size tag appears to be maroon paper. I'll get you...
Put in winning bids for this Marathon fedora and this Adam Envoy. The Envoy is my first homburg.
They both arrived today, prompting me to to post here. They fit nicely (I love straddling the 7 / 7 1/8 divide) and are in fine shape, though the Envoy was apparently owned by a smoker (pipe...
OR clone
This has become my go-to hat. It just seems to suit me -- and to fit in with daily life around here. Nice felt, too.
That green gunk you see above on the underside of the brim came out with a good naptha bath.
I think I have two hats that would fall into this category. One is my Open Road-ish Champ.
The other that might qualify is my brown Royalist with a 2 5/8" brim.
The wide, flat-ish brims and thinner ribbons seem to do it. (My wide-brimmed Stetson Flagship also gets positive comments...
I think some of it is the luck of the draw, too. We look at a few murky, incomplete photos on ebay and hope for the best. It works out often enough that we keep doing it -- but not every time.
Seasons Greetings to you, too!
My first Borsalino
It's a rollable Borsalino, box included. The ebay seller listed it as "brown" but it's really a taupe (which I like, since I think the color matches a wider range of clothes) with a brown ribbon. The crown is 5" high, uncreased. The brim is 1 7/8" on the sides, and 2 1/8"...
I have a Bailey wool "lite felt" crusher that I use for hiking around the winter desert. It's lasted for almost a decade and I don't wince when it gets sweaty and dusty. After all these years of sun, cactus and barbed wire, the only wear it shows is a little fading. It's a seemingly...
I wore a khaki trench and a gray fedora (a Dobbs VVL) last week when it was raining. The trench has a zip-out liner, so it's also perfect for days that are cool, but not cold enough for my wool overcoat. It's "dressy" for northern Arizona, but so is wearing a sport coat to the community college...
Rollable Borsalino
I picked up this rollable Borsalino at what seems an eminently fair price. If the seller's measured 22 1/4" internal circumference squares with the hat's apparent "5" Punti size, this one should be wearable for me...
I have just three hat boxes to speak of, but I'm rather fond of them -- especially the Stetson Flagship box I just picked up to match the lid of the same name.
The Champ box is modest, as you'd expect from a budget brand. But I still think it sports some pretty inspired art.
And you can't...
