A-2 Jacket on leave?

Hi,
Soon I'll be working on a short film, and I was wanting to keep things authentic. Did pilots ever where A-2 jackets on leave or was it strictly the dress blouse? Thanks

a2 on leave

I remember seeing several a2's on several on leave pilots when I was a kid in WWII. Some of them and were painted with "over the hump" and had patches. I thought they were really great rugged!and very

They were regarded as flight gear and were supposed to be restricted to base, however photos do exist of crew on leave in their A-2's. (eg p10 Art of the Flight Jacket- Maguire)
