Cool, but that electrically-powered twin 12 ga is SO much cooler. And there has to be one sitting around somewhere in someone's military junk yard just waiting for me to find it!

I'll see what I have photos wise and see if Taigh has the plans. I know they made the frame for the turret.

Operation Pinball Do Not Tilt

Lets not forget the greatest gunnery school of WWII, Operation Pinball! Bell P-63s with added armour were used as live targets, using led and Bakelite bullets. They were suppose to fragment on impact, but sometimes they would penatrait the radiators on the Kingcobras, then the Allison V-12 engine would over heat and seize, so the pilot either had to bail out or belly land. No pilots were lost, but lots of fun. A friend of mine wrote a book on the training, appropriately titled Operation Pinball By Ivan Hickman. A great read.

THOSE guys were NUTS! I was kidding with Taigh one day about that and he got excited and said he knew where a couple were at, I said what crazed idiot would fly it, he stopped to think on that one.
