Ive spent many an hour gazing into the back of my mechanical pocket watch wondering what the purpose of each part is. I just found this youtube vid which explains it all for noobs like me. I hope you enjoy.

That made a lot more sense than I thought it would. It was a good idea arranging the pieces into a line rather than trying to work with a standard watch configuration. My dad used to have a clock and watch shop, but now just collects, but he was pretty good at this sort of thing. Me, I get too irritated just trying to put the tiny screws back in. I'm a great disassembler, but a lousy reassembler. Hopefully I/we can get my pocket watch working. It'd be neat to wear.
