View attachment 698452 View attachment 698453 i just picked this up off marketplace and figured id post some nasty bathroom mirror selfies. Dont mind the kum n go tshirt, i think they dont exost anymore. Anyway, i had a fox creek grayson in a 50r that was too short. I moved that then came across this 141 in a 50 long. I Feel like it fits ok, even though its a shade big, i dont think id be able to move in the 48. Thepart that has me second quessing this are the holes for the wrists and neck are huge for an mc jacket and the neck is floating up my neck. Its kind of a wierd fit and im not sure if it will settle out or not. Opinions? Oh, yes, i know the sleeves are longer than most of you guys wear, but it was actuallyintended for use on a bike.

Thanks!
Looks good in my eyes! but I do prefer my leather jacket to fit rather trim, and I can only go after the picture :)

@busterbluth20 that looks perfect! the length are a+ imo, any smaller and it'll look to slim imo(aka korvskinn/sausage skin) :)

Cheers!

Hello all,

I would like to ask for opinions on the fit of my recently acquired Cafe Racer jacket from Aero.

I have only worn the jacket briefly and have not began to break it in at all, but there appears to be very pronounced lines/folds extending from the neck opening to the armpit area. These lines persist when the jacket is fully zipped up and when it's fully/partially open. Is this normal? Is it something that will go away during the break in process? I've included some pictures of the jacket in various states of closure below, and I've also included a picture of me wearing my Aero Sheene in the same size (and same cut as the CR) which doesn't suffer from this issue.

Fer reference, the black Cafe Racer is Black Vicenza and the brown Sheene is Natural CX FQHH. Both are size 42. My chest is 42.5" relaxed and 45" expanded.

Mods, I have accidentally posted this in the wrong forum - if someone would be kind enough to relocate it to the Outerwear forum that would be appreciated.

Have a read into the aero neck hang issue on this forum. I had the same issue on all my aeros

Some people have the lines, but are perfectly find wearing the jacket. For my, my jacket was always super uncomfortable because of where it hung, so I had to sell mine.

Here;s a potential fix: https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/game-changer-fix-for-aero-pattern-issue.106538/
Thanks for sharing this thread!

Having read through it I'm left wondering if anyone has reached a more permanent solution than sewing socks into the shoulders?

My bates does the same thing. The Cafe racer is designed to be relaxed when your hands are reaching straight out front in a riding position. In that position it is very comfortable with no pulling. If your not riding and have your hands by your side it bunches and pulls under the armpit and shoulder area. I wear it while I am riding and when I arrive at the destination I take it off.

IMO, your sheene is doing the same thing at the shoulder. Those diagonal creases may be less noticeable when wearing the jacket, but they are there in the images.

Does the leather feel more broken in on the Sheene? Also, are the measurements the same? Meaning, if they are the same, it may well be a factor of softer (broken in) leather.

IIRC, neither cut has a swing back, which would help with the shoulder somewhat.

These neck->pits lines and the general neck hang feel of Aero jackets have been discussed many times here on TFL. It's a pattern issue. Some models less some more. Some folks get hit by it less, some more. For me its pretty mild, but it's there.

I came across it in General Attire and moved it.

The best way to let me know of a request is to tag me in the post. Like this:

@Peacoat

Thanks very much for moving and noted how to tag you in future!

I hadn't considered that they are only meant to 'sit correctly' when riding, that's an interesting observation.

The Sheene does do the same but to a much lesser extent IMO, especially when the zip is open at the front. The leather of the Sheene is significantly more rigid as it's CXFQHH vs. the Vicenza of the CR, so perhaps the softness of the leather actually makes the issue more prominent by allowing the leather to hang in a less structured way.

I don't see how you conclude the CR has the issue and the other one doesn't....

You're right - they both do, but at least from my perspective it's far more noticeable and severe with the CR than the Sheene (comparing the two pictures where they are both fully unzipped demonstrates that more than comparing the picture of the Sheene unzipped with the picture of the CR zipped up)

I see that now, however I'm still left wondering if there are any solutions which don't involve sewing in shoulder pads, or perhaps whether it will go away somewhat during the break in process?
