It is not going away. The cafe racer sleeve /shoulder / neck junction is designed specifically for the arms forward riding position. When you have your arms in the forward position for long periods of time you dont want to have to struggle against the stiff leather. Your muscles would be in the same position while at full extension doing a push up exercise. In the push up position your muscles are in a drastically different position than when you are standing at attention.
If you have bad posture, and your shoulders are hunched forward towards your spine and neck , and your shoulder blades are winged away from your spine while standing with your hands by your side, then the jacket will be similar to the comfortable riding position.
You have normal standing posture. A cafe racer is designed for the normal riding position. And that is something totally different. You should look for a fashon jacket simulating a racer jacket style for times when you are not actually riding.
It is great to have access to clothing designed for specific tasks. The jacket designed for archery is way different than one designed for running. That is why my closet if full of so many different versions. An activity oriented wardrobe perfect for the activity at hand.
A cafe Racer jacket designed like a walking jacket would be worthless for riding. An Archery jacket designed for running would also be worthless.

All very valid points regarding the jacket being tailored for a specific position and having jackets fit for specific purposes, perhaps I should have been aware of that prior to ordering! In my defence I had seen pictures of people wearing Aero Cafe Racer jackets without any such lines (i.e. the picture below - admittedly this chap is leaner than me and we have different body shapes, but you get the idea!) and I hoped I could replicate the same. Also I happen to be Scottish and live 40 minutes from Aero so was determined to support their brand even if my use case - casual wear instead of riding - was not ideal. I'm not going to give up getting this to fit right though! Haha. Thanks for your responses.

Interesting, it seems like you've got the same thing going on that I do!

It's just how the pattern of the jacket interacts with your body - don't think it'll go away during the break-in process.
Short of an expensive alteration or injecting some of this around your shoulders and traps area, there isn't much else you can do.

The padding seems to be the best bang for your buck.

Haha, here I was thinking that years of deadlifting might have made my traps too large and may actually be contributing to the problem, back to the gym I go (albeit without injecting any oil... yet)

Narrower in the shoulders, longer and narrower in the sleeves. Hard to say much about the torso from those photos but looks quite okay. Just my opinion obviously.
I agree, but Mister Freedom is the sole maker of this style of shirt. The larger size would have longer sleeves but wider shoulders, and the smaller size would have smaller shoulders but shorter sleeves, so I feel like this is a good compromise. I wanted this specific style.

I'm not sure what you were asking then.

If you've decided on this size, this maker and this style, what opinions were you hoping for?
