That's one of my favorite photos- the suit, the hat, the attitude-great!
good luck- and bet on the horse with the best name-my other half does it,
and she wins way too much money...

I grew up on horseback. Shirtless, shoeless, hatless, not to mention brainless. ;) And I have never been to a horse race, other than the pony races we had with the neighbor kids. They got horse races right across the river, legal like.

I did like that movie though. :D I thought "Tucker" was better.

Well my camera went on the fritz and this is the only picture I got. Before the race.
Anyway I hit on all three horse in the 4th race! :D did not win much... you have to bet alot to win alot!

I saw a few hats, mostly the Bear Bryant type on men and a few ladies with some nice hats.

RBH, thats a beautiful hat. I see you wear this one and a campdraft quite often. Of the 2 which do you favor? Is the marathon a little more of a dress hat?

B... I think the Marathon may be a little more dressy but that may be because of the lighter color.
I like both hats, the Marathon does not get as much wear because of it being vintage and being simular to the 'Seabiscuit ' fedora. But I have worn it the last two days and it has rained a little and the Marathon took it well. When I wear a hat I do not abuse it but I also do not baby one if you can understand what I mean.
Another thing I did was raise the front pinch on the Marathon about a 1\4 inch, to me it made all the difference in it looking as if the crown was to low.

As for a Campdraft, all I can say is you cant beat it for an Open Road/Stratoliner style fedora.

I echo all the comments; in fact, the whole group is well turned out.
I assume that is a Speed Graphic in the background. If so that is a really great touch. :)
