This thread is for all Italian Brand Hats
Borsalino and Panizza, we already have, but can also be shown like this.
There are many lesser-known Italian brand names. Where we want to give you a chance.

I start with a Panfilio Hat from 1962.
The seller says the hat is gray brown but he is gray green. what a mess.
Looks like a Italian Pork Pie. very good condition. Liner and Sweatband perfect.
It was an Ebay find that arrived today

I believe I have seen a Panfilo before but Verbano is a new one to me. It has Ghiffa Italia on the liner which was the location of Panizza so might some how be associated. Based on the construction and style I would say 1970s. Is the liner stitiched?

Here's my only Italian hat that's not a Borsalino. This is some of the thickest densest felt I've ever handled. Too bad I hardly ever wear it.

Lloyd, this is a very nice looking Trachten Hat. In Germany we says Trachten for that Style.
The Brand is unknown to me.

A post of Ole's led me to this thread.

Any lesser knowm Italian makers people have come across?

Any experience with Carlo Sala (either their wool or fur-felt)?

No experience with Carlo Sala. Never heard of them before.
Thought this was an interesting video on an Italian hat maker.

Thanks for the link Harv. I'm guessing Barbisio's with Originale on the liner are post Cervo take over?

    Hi Folks

I came across a hat that is labeled " trionfo" on the inside top of crown. Anyone familiar with the name?
    Thank you and best regards.

    Hi Folks

I came across a hat that is labeled " trionof" on the inside top of crown. On the sweat is the famous "barsolina" name. So what is "trionof"?
    Thank you and best regards.

Good thread. Anybody any experience with Melegari made hats? I'm getting to try out one of their trilbys soon; 4.5cm brim, rabbit felt, leather sweat. Will try to take some pics.
