From The Hat Centre in London.
A total crapshoot, maybe made by Christie's. I have also heard "Poland" & another possible European origin, perhaps Huckel.
Described as having a "deep" crown (no measurement given) & a 75 mm brim, so just under 3". Take off the 20% VAT I'll not be paying. Looks like a fair deal, eh?

Does anyone else have one? Opinions, observations, praise or condemnation? [huh]

Gents, thank you for the warm welcome.

Here are two more pics, but in these, I am wearing my vintage Resistol Fedoras (a different one in each of the two pictures).

Barbisio

The Barbisio arrived in beaten condition even if the seller claimed it was quite new.
He was right, after little steam and brush, the Barbisio of his grandfather is in excellent conditions.

It was made for a special occasion for the grandfather of the owner.

It is a stingy brim Italian style.

I presume it came from the seventies or maybe the sixties. This tipe of hats are very common in Italy in those days.

It has a 11 cm. crown and the brims are 4,5 cm, size is 59 cm. or 7 3/8 US. Interesting the color matching with a multicolor ribbon.

"That unique ribbon makes the hat!"
It is my thought too. The hat is very simple in the sixty-seventies fashion.
The felt is thick as for most of the Italians stingy of that era.
The ribbon and bow are fantastic.

Stetson Select Boater

Ventilated weave with a wide brim (2 3/4), straw in fine shape, the maroon ribbon will need a good bath.

Only me and the colonel looking at this one - I guess tis not the season. :)

I don't recall seeing a boater woven like that, Alan. Rather cool (in both senses).

I see the colonel has gotten himself banned again.
