Brilliant, Justin, especially the watch and cufflinks. Is the tie from Old Glory Antique Mall? And is the suit the one you wore at the Antique Festival in Portland in July when I was there?

FABULOUS Anon!!!:eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap Thanks for posting. Nice shoes! What a terrific watch and cuff links too, nice to see the closeup pic of the those. Hey, if you ever decide to lose the beard to go more vintage, you ought to consider the pencil moustache- you'd probably look super in it! btw, your haircut is great for the vintage look too.

Thank you all... Solid, Doran, Bugsy, chanteuseCarey and crazydaisy... that certainly got rather more attention than I'd thought it would! I absolutely love those cufflinks as well... they're my favourite pair, and not just for the family connection, thought that certainly doesn't hurt!

Doran~ The suit is indeed the same one I wore at the antique show last month. It has become my favourite, I believe, out of all my suits. The tie actually came, I believe, from the Avalon. It was one of my very first vintage clothing purchases.

Bugsy~ Finally found a (small, admittedly) source on the hosiery! I'll be making weekly pilgrimages for awhile now, I think...

chanteuseCarey~ Every time I shave I consider offing the beard in favour of a mustache by itself. I've not yet worked up the courage to do so, but I am trying! Glad you like the haircut, too--I've been trying to figure it out for probably over a year now (save for a four-month experiment involving long hair) and have recently been inspired again by "Public Enemies" and a still from it published about a month ago in the WSJ.

    And on with the pencil-moustache.

Yes, Justin/Anon` is in fact a very handsome fellow. My wife and I see him every time we go to Portland. My wife thought he was handsome as well, as did our friend Jennifer who met him once at the Secret Society bar.

But losing the beard will make him look even more swell.

Thanks everyone. :) Here's what I wore to take some very late photos for the Mad Men contest (apparently in vain, I'm getting site errors)!

Hopefully I look like a real live girl in this one, Antje. ;)

  14. Young lady, anyone who'd kick you out of this thread or anywhere needs a good sharp kick of their own...;) (I'm thinking straight to the unmentionables, but then again I always did favor more direct, to-the-point solutions... lol )

If we did kick you out it'd only be because you overshadow our feeble attempts to look stylish. :D

anon', great suit, I also like the links. Are they snap links?
SayCici, wow! Outstanding outfit. Do you have any more pics of the hat?

Here's me today. I would have worn my mac, too, but it was too warm for that.

    '50s double breasted suit
Blue/off white Tootal tie of unknown age
    Off white silk square
    Radiac collar
    Modern Clarks shoes
Old brolly with an art deco horse head handle
    Unmarked hat

Thanks MarkL, Nick! Those cufflinks are actually of a rather unusual style that I've only seen a few times. They're not snaps, but rather are connected by a solid bar welded to one face. The other face is attached by way of a hinge, thus:

However, of more import than my cufflinks: SayCici, absolutely stunning.
