Borsalino Marque Grand Luxe A memory from one year ago today. I wouldn’t know it at the time but it would be The last time I got to see my mom. A moment and memory I am very grateful for on the day we have now reached the grim milestone of 500,000 lives taken by this virus in the US and nearly 2.5 million worldwide.
Four hats over the past two days: Stetson 25, open road but not stamped as an open road, black actual Stetson Open road, Texas Hatters silver belly derby, and Dennis Brooks Fine Fur Hats black beaver fedora in the snow.
Allow me to pile on some more compliments on your handiwork, Terry. Great refurb work, and looks good even better on your head. I really like the crease you chose!
The Magills kind of run the gambit. The rabbit felt, in my opinion, is mid-quality. More along the lines of the current royal quality Stetsons and Selentinos. They do run true to size. It seems as though Magill is filling the niche of affordable fashion fur felt fedoras. They come in many different colors, finishes, and brim sizes. They are fun hats, and I enjoy wearing them. Nice hats, but not top-shelf. They also have a beaver felt line that is an upgrade from the rabbit felts; I believe JJ hat center in New York is blowing out a half-price sale on them now.
Forgot to post these earlier. Still mostly wearing the same handful of hats, including personal build #2, the Bob Dylan hat. Nutria/rabbit felt, horse hair band, half curled brim. With the doggo at Fort Funston, one of the many former coastal defense sites around here. The battery in the background dates to the late 1930's, and the parking lot is actually paved over top of a Nike missile launch site. It happens to very conveniently be the closest off leash dog park to me. Also, the only dog park I know of where you might also spot whales during the right time of year. There also seems to be more hawks around here lately.
Those hats are great-- really digging the sombrero! What's the coat? It's awesome. I can never seem to find those in any version but grey or black.
That’s a fine looking hat, Perry and one I don’t remember seeing. Love the sweat details. Hats for Dad and Lad! 3x6?
Thanks Jeff. It really is. Surprisingly easy color combo for me to wear. This "newer" Vogue is a forest green with a contrast trim. The other "older" Vogue I have is a pine green felt. Some days you have to wear a bold hat. Cheers, Eric -
Dog soirée wearing a vintage Dobbs Cameo. This fedora was one of my first six hats or so. I still enjoy the hues and appearance when worn. A lovely hat that definitely needs more head time. Cheers, Eric -

Good eye, Joe. It used to be an overwelt, that I took out. It can still be seen, but is more noticeable on the pics than it is in real life.
