It does feel great to have "that one hat"; regardless of brand or style, that one hat that is yours 'till the end!

Today....i rarely plan a post and today’s no diff. For rainy porch lounging and coffees i looked around and this one caught my eye.
Return of the Churchill Beaver 50 with a brim that would slice bread. One can only dream what the B/V 100 would be like!
Not a toothpick thin ribbon but one of my thinnest for i guess, TAR Thurs.
I’ll never sell this hat. It’s not the most prestigious, look what i got hat, but mine till cold dead hands.
Be well. Bowen

That is a beautiful hat, as far as I'm concerned. I have a hat I feel similarly to you about. Although, it is, for lack of a better description, a piece of crap! It is a early-mid 70's Stetson, my first cowboy hat! I was actually playing cowboy at that time. It's been tromped on, stomped on, rained on, snowed on, dropped in manure, dropped in the creek, snagged in trees, stained, faded, had a new sweatband, and it wouldn't bring a nickle at an auction, but it would be the very last one I'd get rid of. It's been with me since my teens.

A break in the heat has me digging deeper, as it opens the way for some heavier felts. This is easily one of my nicest finds over the years.

Mallory XV, nice high crown, Cavanagh edge, beautiful felt that fits like a dream.

Coming from a long conversation with a fellow photographer, I found myself wondering how long I didn't show up here

The veiled sun gave me a hand and so here I am in the warm Italian afternoon, with a Borsalino "Sisol" so it is defined on the beautiful sweatband

The hat is very light and almost weightless, with excellent finishes. It was probably built by Tesi in and around Florence, but so be it

Good day lounge mates
Gorgeous, Daniele. Looks like a perfect summer hat.

The Stetson Fortune and Glory went from open crown to a rough Indy bash in less than 10 seconds. Molds like soft clay. This Excellent quality beaver is thick and lush to the hand. No steam needed. 2 5/8 front and back dimensionally cut to 2 1/2 on the sides. Open crown is just under 6" creased to 4 1/2 in the front. My quick bash is certainly not screen accurate but who cares, I like it. Echter Borsalino ""Qualità Superiore" probably 1930s. This is the second hat from a November 2012 find that was made into a Campaign Hat. It was also originally sold by Carl Kellner Hamburg. Unfortunately the fantastic sweatband is damaged. It's possible later stiffening contributed to the sweatband deterioration. Great bow design (it appears original) which I don't think I scene before on a Borsalino.

Very cool, Steve. Pity about the sweatband.
