Like Joe, I too thought of Daniele today while wearing this one. It says Anderson inside, but has a Cervo or Tonak feel to it. IMG_20200412_171024.jpg IMG_20200412_171030.jpg IMG_20200412_182525.jpg

Steve; Wow is the best I have. Your hat rack is the BEST! The European hat makers were so very mature in their skills and materials. Todays hat felt is just spectacular. Thanks for sharing.

30 Days to 30 Hats - Day 11
Rosollino Milano - Beaver Blend

View attachment 226900

Day 11 in honor of our Italian friend and fellow lounge member @Daniele Tanto continuing his national quarantine in Italy.. I present this Rosollino Milano in velvety grey beaver blend felt with multi hues corded hat band. I do not know if this brand is actually of Italian origin but it is clear to me they were modeling their brand in a style similar to Borsalino. This particular hat was sold in Nelson’s Men’s Wear in Quincy, Illinois. Sure I could have chosen a Borsalino for today... but I just felt this one calling me. Much in the way Daniele shares his love of hats with us. This hat is one that I always come back to. Is it the finest of hats... no. Is it in perfect shape.. no. Is it a sought after brand.. no. But it suits me fine.. is especially comfortable and I love it’s character. It is for whatever reason a hat that garners good reaction when I wear it. And THAT is definitely a measure of a good hat.

I am enjoying your hat showcases of late. Terrific hat and tribute.

Silverbelly Akubra Campfraft outdoors getting very sweaty, very dirty. One of the jobs I bought it for. Got the whole garden raked out and turned over. Planted potatoes, pumpkins, aji dulce peppers, purple tiger peppers and a row of basil. It’s a good start. It felt good to do something normal.

Hats at work! Exactly what they were made to do.

The weather was cruddy today and I didn't manage to get a photo. So I decided to continue wearing my hat when I got home. With this Daks cheesecutter, I have now posted all of my autumn/winter hats except a couple of nondescript beanies. I have serious hat envy for those posting 30 hats in 30 days! My wife wore her Goorin Bros.
This is me relaxing with a couple of my favourite books. The chair is my pride and joy. It's nearly impossible to sit on this chair without falling asleep! The stool (which we use as a table) is made from whiskey casks.

Suit and boots are dynamite. Happy Easter sir. I hope you change clothes for the impending snow.

Looking sharp sir. The landscape devoid of humans in your pics backgrounds are certainly a thing of today. Normal or not, you live in a picturesque part of the world. Thanks for sharing. Be safe.

A rare sunny day and a walk along the coast to the beach wearing a hemp Stratoliner. Harder to stay away from people today, lots of folks out walking who normally don't, and many are having trouble staying 6 feet away from each other. Still can't go swimming after surgery, but it has been pretty stormy bringing lots of nasty runoff anyway.
Peace,

Great warm weather hat! I've been considering a hemp fedora for the summer, but I can't find a lot of info on hemp here on the lounge. Can you share a little bit about how the material wears? Does hemp hold its shape well? Is it durable, or should it avoid rain like toquilla? How does hemp compare with straw, if you have any experience with the latter? Thanks for any info you might be able to share!

It's a back mule kick, Stefan. Only those I'm walking away from can see it :)

Very cool looking hat, Steve. It takes the diamond crease extremely well. I feel the mule kick might be a bit much.
Take care if that is a mule (or an a#$)!;)
Keep them coming Stefan like in the days of Chariots of Fire even though the Brits are leaving now.
I like to think of it as the Brits taking a sabbatical, Steve.

Nice one, Brent. Like the pug.

A line up that brings a smile to my face, Eric.

Thanks Stefan. They did build a nice hat. I like the shape of this one a lot after my refurb.

Dang, that Failsworth is a beauty.

I don't have enough superlatives in my arsenal for that one, Steve!

Stefan, I will follow in your footsteps but with a different country.
I'm looking forward to it, Steve. I'm guessing that country might be Germany or Austria:)

Either way a nice looking hat, Steve.

View attachment 227050 Hello, FL folks! Hope you’re all fine and dandy on this day that many celebrate as the Lord’s day of self resurrection.
A PENNY’s Marathon from the early sixties. It’s my shortest brimmed hat these days, at 2 5/16. I love the colors and the well topped effect it gives when wearing it. Sort of like an expensive, well tailored suit. View attachment 227049 View attachment 227048
Very nice, Randall. Perfect proportions to my eye.

30 Days to 30 Hats Day 12
Dunderry - Dark Blue
Happy Easter

Dunderry (Montgomery Ward) in Dark Blue
5 inch crown as bashed
1 5/8 grosgrain ribbon
2 1/4 brim with black grosgrain binding
2 inch tan sweatband

Adding a little color for Easter today.. even if it is a deep dark blue color of my newest arrival Montgomery Ward Dunderry. This hat is stunning with its dark blue felt.. tremendous proportions. The seller had indicated a 2.5 inch brim... but I am very happy with the 2 1/4 it actually is.. I think it works perfectly on this hat. Hard to reproduce the color of this hat as it changes drastically depending on the light. I think I came close here.. There is nothing not to love about this hat.. from its color.. it’s bow.. it’s shape and the feel of the felt. Maybe a little staining on the liner and sweat. I am very impressed with and excited about this hat.

A cool spring day, perfect for my favorite Cordings tweed suit and a short-brimmed, brown beaver with a raw-edge from Henri Henri in Montreal. Sorry for the crooked pic, my three-year old took it (she insisted). This is actually my first real hat, other than caps. Getting into hats has been on my mind for some time, but there aren't any great hat stores in my area. So, whilst in Montreal a couple months back I stopped by Henri Henri. It was their only brown beaver in stock, and happened to by my size. Made locally for the shop, it looked great and was at an amazing price, so I couldn't pass it up. Now I've got the itch for ever more hats!
