How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

I've got a 1940s Windward Perfecto-style jacket on the way. Apparently carried by foot. Should've been here two days ago but the USPS keeps pushing the delivery date back.

Greetings All:
Another one of these. Coast Guard Peacoat. Same style, different vintage.
Looking for the one with “velvety” wool.

I just received some bad news from the guys at Langlitz. Due to the difficulty of converting the crosszip Columbia pattern into a straight zip jacket, and also due to the fact that they have had to remake both of my earlier orders to get the size right, they have decided to pass on my new jacket order. They offered to make me any of their more conventional styles but I have my heart set on a straight zip CHP so I asked them to give me a refund instead. I am really bummed, on the one hand I’m disappointed in this response from Langlitz and on the other hand I understand where they’re coming from.
Back to the drawing board for me, I am thinking seriously about reaching out to Stu at Lost Worlds since he makes a very nice CHP.

Too bad. I’d be more disappointed than understanding but one moves on. LWs is incredibly nice. God tier even but I selfishly still hope you consider Cal. Lol. I want to see one of their recent builds in this style. I wonder if they customize more than LW, it would be hard not to. The LW is a ridiculously great jacket tho.

JMax,
Oh I am definitely more disappointed than understanding... I guess the level of understanding I do have comes from running my own business and learning how hard it is to satisfy difficult customers and make money at the same time. It’s just that I never saw myself as a difficult customer!!!
I am absolutely considering Cal again. I think I am leaning towards Lost Worlds based on my desire for a punishingly heavy hide and the fact that I can see photos of the exact style I am looking for on their website.
I will keep you all posted as the saga unfolds

Too bad. Sucks. I feel for you El Marro !!
Lost World's, as you know, makes awesome jackets and I hope you love the CHP you will be ordering from Stu.
Sounds like you have an unconventional fit challenge. Langlitz knows fit and I am sure they would have made the jacket for you if there was a reasonable chance of a near perfect fit. I learned over the past 4 years that it is very difficult to get that custom fit. After about a dozen Aero's, LW, Thedi, Schott and Langlitz I know exactly what will fit my current frame.
More disappointment then victory but when you get that right fit it sure does feel satisfying.

I’m surprised to hear that!! I’d think it would not be too difficult to modify a sidewinder and create a single breasted CHP. I mean even if they go off the Columbia pattern...it’s not that much different at all. LW is a great option. You might consider Johnson leathers too if you want more pattern flexibility. Sucks to think you’ve been waiting in a queue only to get that news...

I have one of this (bought a few months back), very nice but also short jacket. Mine needs conditionning.
Please post picts of yours!

Like yours, this 1940s Windward is very short (21" length from the bottom of the collar). The leather, which I believe is horsehide, isn't very impressive. Conditioning might help a little, but it doesn't compare to my 1950s FQHH Rich Sher. The snaps and belt buckle are also smaller and cheaper in comparison. I like the red wool lining and the side zips. The squared off epaulettes are interesting. But overall, my Rich Sher beats this Windward hands down. The later 1950s Windwards with quilted linings look a step above this one.

I'm sending this one back due to the short length, inaccurate measurements from the seller, some undisclosed damage (paint on one sleeve, lining rip at a seam, leather separation at a shoulder) and a god-awful smell of cigarettes and mothballs.

I know men wore high-rise pants back in the 1940s, but the dimensions of this jacket are odd. And in the photo, I've got my pants hiked up as far as they'll go.

EDIT: After taking a closer look at the leather, it's definitely horsehide. For kicks, I applied a little dab of leather conditioner in a couple spots. It absorbed immediately. A Lexol/Pecards treatment would most definitely help revive this horse.

That's a great looking jacket but far too short. It needs 3" of body length.

Looks very nice. Double zip and button up too. If the fit is good you've got a winner. How much is this coat..??
HD
Lone Pine coats are very expensive but the quality is there - 0n sale around $1900.00. The pictures really don't do the coat justice - and I know that statement has become a cliché, but it's true.

If it does fit me well, I'll make the plunge with a partial justification/excuse that I will be selling off some items to kinda offset the expense.
