Easter is always a bit distracting

This year the cold tormented me and I had a really bad couple of days

Then some Spanish friends arrived and I took the opportunity to try, with a day of architectural visits, to forget about coughing and more

Meanwhile the weather has worsened and for two days it has been raining on the new leaves and flowers, today in a flash of sunlight I wear a recently acquired Borsalino

Borsalino Qualità Superiore, without lining, size is 6 so a 59 cm. or 7 3/8 US.

As for the modern Borsalino there are only number on the paper label

It is in black felt not so deep (maybe a very deep antracite) with a bronze-greenish ribbon

The felt is light and malleable, but it keeps well the shape
Have a nice day!

But I think I remember you once said that the cloth it is made of is unique.

It is a piece from a 19th century homespun coverlet. This particular piece may be unavailable but Keith has a remarkable collection of antique and vintage textiles to choose from. There will definitely be something that speaks to you. The challenge is making the choice!

Thanks Stefan.

That is a nice panama. Really nice.

Peschel had some of the nicest finishes. Looks very good with that crease,

Supposed to have a little thunderstorm in a few minutes and after that has passed I think a little ride to the library is in order.

Yesterday afternoon I chose to wear a vtg.Stetson Whippet to complete some outside chores.

Yesterday evening I was out sport'n a long hair felted Disney. This vintage hat is a rust hued long haired felt. Excellent workmanship on the felt as it is evenly pounced and takes a crease gently. It will hold a soft C or a diamond with hard front crease equally well. In order to do that the felt has to be expertly worked. The ribbon and edge work is superb.

I did not include a "wearing pic" as the angle that I held the camera made the hat appear like a top hat. If I hold the camera too close and high in front hats or caps appear to be veeery tall and the brims proportionately minuscule. I will post up an accurate proportioned pic in the near future.

This Disney hat is fine and should be worn more often! Best, Eric -
With that Disney you surpass yourself, Eric! And that's not easy to do with your hat collection. Amazing!

Whippet Wednesday: I wore a vintage Stetson Whippet for my dog walk this morning. A darker gray Whippet (brim 2 7/8") was my wearing choice. I thought it may be enjoyable to compare it to a light gray (brim 2 1/2") version.

Shortly ago I started the grill for some breakfast while shedding the warmer vest and changing hats to a vtg.Borsalino Misto. My dog and I are hungry for grilled salmon and potatoes.

Best, Eric -
The STetsons look gorgeous, but that Borsalino takes the prize for me. Stellar, Eric.
