Greg this CB presents as perfect as all your hats do. It being younger than some of your other CBs, do you appreciate much difference in the felts? I know the felt stiffness can vary but what are your thoughts?
Heck of a hat!

What a beauty of a bike, love that leather jacket too. I had a Harley in the early 1990's, I can't believe that was almost 30 years ago. My missus and I loved it, known as a Heritage Springer Softail. My missus and I were into 1950's rock & roll at that time, and while all our friends were buying cars with fins and chrome we bought The Harley, sold it on for more than I paid too. Great memory. (note the beard.)

I still go out on a bike, but it's much more sedate. My surgeon recommended cycling as good therapeutic exercise to build back the muscle tone following the surgical insult. The bike is a ladies 1922 Phillips, perfect for my gammy leg. Gents bikes, with the crossbar, are not hip replacement friendly. The hat, one of Esther's finest, sits tightly on top, not that I can pedal fast enough to lose it to the wind.

Borsalino Qualità Superiore size is 7 3/8 because it was made for the US market View attachment 193917
Color of the felt is "Uranio" and the ribbon is "Nera"
View attachment 193918
The felt is very soft and malleable and it has the edge of brim processed as "feltrato" (cavanagh edge)

I bought this Borsalino along withy ohters "flooded" some years ago, some were refurbished, this not.
Thanks for the likes for the the lobbia "Rutenio"
Buona giornata a tutti voi!
Marvelous as always Daniele!
Of all the “feltratos” i’ve handled i believe Borsalino to have the most elegant and finely finished. Disney does a fine example as well. It’s always nice to see a well finished brim to complete a fine hat.
Thanks for sharing a new term, “feltrato”, too.

Unknown brand. It was missing a liner and a sweatband, and was misshapen. Ignacio says it is made of Australian wool. Wool always feels scratchy to me, but this doesn't

Very nice for sure. We go to Kerrville, Fredericksburg, Boerne quite often. Love to go hang out at Albert and Luckenbach.

My favorite ride has to be the Devil’s Backbone though, just beautiful and great twisties. Very cool old Tavern on the route too.

Beautiful country over there. If you make it to Sisterdale around lunch time, be sure to stop by Black Board BBQ. You won’t regret it.

Western Wednesday with a Beaver 100 and my trusty Wrangler denim pearl snap shirt. I put a vintage filter on one of the pics but I'm not sure it helped my looks very much :)

Enjoying the mild weather today here in central Texas. It is supposed to get nasty tonight and tomorrow.

Great hat. Nice shirt. Just right for the weather. We’re about to get a good rain tonight here in Kerrville, America.

Thanks Bowen. "Feltrato" is a word used by Borsalino for finishing the brim, an unusual term in Italian laguage, but it exist: Feltrato "Ridotto a feltro" Certainly it is very elegant and well made, but Barbisio also has a remarkable degree of finishing in this area. I absolutely don't know American hats with such a finish, so I have no comparison. I also suspect that Borsalino used this type of brim treatment almost exclusively for foreign markets.

The cold arrived in a clear morning
RutenioB 1.jpg

A classic of autumn in Northern Italy, so for the morning walk up to the Adige river I chose a classic Borsalino
RutenioB 3.jpg

Borsalino Qualità Extra Extra Superiore, size is 6 1/2 so a 7 1/2 US
RutenioB 5.jpg

The felt is soft and a little "rebel". The color combination is a usual in Borsalino choice. "Rutenio" felt and ribbon is "Asfalto"

Have a nice day!
Thanks for your kindness for the flooded Borsalino "Savoy"
A great compliment for you loungers and your wonderful hats

Had to dust off my #810 flange and do a third reflanging on my Bark Brown Stagecoach conversion. I wasn't quite satisfied with the looks of the other two different flanges for the brim style I was trying to accomplish on this hat. Third time's a charm, I always heard. After this one I'm going to have to take a break from doing conversions for the next several weeks until I get my back straightened around with more PT that I have scheduled.

This hat sports a very tall and vertical crown in a longhair finish...

The back shows how straight sided this hat is.

A better look at the bow work...(1 1/2 black ribbon)
