I would allready have searched for one if I knew that before ;)

Panos, you should definitely search for one and acquire one for yourself. A top hat would look good on you, and you'll never look back [emoji4]

Felt like spiffing up for the annual meeting of our local Monteith Historical Society last night. Unknown German maker (PC Habig??) for a famous department store chain, Peek & Cloppenburg. This opera hat is probably from the 1960s as the store logo in the liner is the older style. Just a lot of fun to wear and it really was a show stopper at the meeting! To stay within the theme: and now for something completely different!
Barbisio Granito Umbria

Makes a Borsalino Nutria Opale with a double ribbon look boring (well, almost).

That is one exceptional Barbisio, Stefan. It is indeed very different, not to mention so eye catching both colour and pattern wise. Is it new to you?

Sort of new. It is quite something. Daniele and I both spotted it and because the seller wouldn't ship outside of Italy, Daniele got it for me. It has been sitting on Fleur of Penumbra's bench for ages. It had a pork pie crease that looked awful on me (my wife and I agreed on that).

Embrace the Pork Pie, Stefan [emoji4]. Looks about right for that Barbisio.
Fleur has done her usual magic despite the time lapse.
Looks cool either way.

Thanks for the inspiration Steve! I am currently exploring the western dress fedora field but maybe I should keep an eye for a topper too ;)

Forty years ago today, two big events happened in my life. My lovely niece (the doctor!) was welcomed into the world. She posted a shot on Instagram last night; she's surfing in Bali.

Now, I missed her birth, as I didn't meet her aunt for a few years. Forty years ago tonight, I was attending a show by The Who in Cincinnati.

Yes, that Who show.

Today, I wore my Dalton Waverly.

And since I forgot to post yesterday, Gannon Mr. Natural.

I forgot about Buford. I was thinking of the guy in the old Dodge ads.

Stefan that is fabulus !! Congrats! I've seen a couple of vintage felt bodies with a pattern of some sort but never something similar. I guess a press machine was used after the felting process?

hat's a true beauty. Too bad the camera can't really grab the blue you describe.
Thanks, the color closest to the original is the one in the first photograph with the sun.
L'Habig è un gran cappello!

eautiful blue, Daniele. Wonderful overall shape and proportions, too. I can understand why you're smiling so happily.
Thanks Steve, I smile because Habig is a great hat that accompanied me in the late afternoon to an important stage in life.
I went to apply for the retirement pension in the building where my mother started her working-class life seventy-eight years ago. These are the strange twists of fate:rolleyes:
