Today....well i notice not often, if hardly ever, that no one wears their brims down all around.
So...i’m advocating today for those hats that just beg to be down but get upped in back or all around.
Return of the Camo-liner speaking for all those uppers that wanna be downers.
As fine a representation of a topo map on felt as you’ll ever find.
You can’t get this at the mall!!
Be well. Bowen

Love seeing the Camo-liner! Some serious mushroom ingestion preceded the creation of that hat.

Chocolate brown Fieldcraft. 7 7/8 Extra long oval (it took me about 20 years to find a vintage hat in this size).

Could serve as the design for the new Space Force hat.

View attachment 219016 50s Stetson Medalist . Had to change out another super ugly pleated ribbon.
I reused the cream colored one I took off the Pilgrim, except now it’s dyed brown to match the hat.
Also had to fashion a “pug”? from an old discarded liner out of a Gun Club hat that could not be revived.
The crown was pork pie style. I steamed in a c-crown.
Frankensteined, but I love it, as only a deranged creator can. :)

Love seeing that one Bowen ! I do wear my OR's with the brims down front and back. Seems the bigger brims look better that way on my small head.....

Old pic, but an example.

I do like your camo-liner. Not a huge fan of total brim downage. Suits that hat though. This count? Haha

Wow! I got a Stetson that I won from eBay today that looks exactly like yours except it’s a
7 1/8! All the way down to the tan ring stain that halos the crown and the exact rust spots on the liner!!!
Sweatbands match in every way as well!
Crazy!
Though I’m pretty sure our two hats were made in the sixties, not 50s.
Maybe someone else will validate my assessment?
We’ve even shaped them the same.
Funny.
