Lee Water Bloc Bronze Label

View attachment 235012

Lee Water Bloc - Bronze Label
Light Milk Chocolate
4 1/2 crown as bashed
1 1/8 Brown grosgrain mid ribbon
2 3/4 overwelt brim
1 7/8 soft supple sweatband.
Unlined interior

This very cool unlined... light milk chocolate Lee Water Bloc Bronze label surely deserved a spot in the 30 Days... unfortunately it got skipped. And with some of the fantastic unlined examples on display the last couple days... it was time for this one to have its turn in the sun... or grey overcast sky as it were today. This one has a nice wide 2 3/4 brim and a less common mid ribbon. A thin light weight felt and a beautiful color that does change depending on light from a tan to a milk chocolate color. I don’t end up wearing this one too often as my wife thinks it looks to much like a Sheriff’s hat. Which may be true as it worked out great as part of my Chief Hopper from Stranger Things costume this past Halloween. Not a perfect match. But much more affordable than The $600 to $800 Worth and Worth Was looking for on their Official version. Today it came along as we ventured out to find a sofa for my mother-in-law. Quite an adventure... though maybe not quite fitting this adventuresome hat.

Alley Kat Hat Co Beaver Black Cherry, Guatemalan beaded hat band, and a Malaysian batik face mask today on the Masked Corona Crawl. Lots of sun, no wind, and gentle waves brought out a few parents with small kids, with several older kids on boogie boards on the first legal day to hang out on the beach since March. The serious surfers were most likely elsewhere seeking more action. Not hard to social distance on the beach, but I didn't hang out. Just swam for a while, did some body surfing, then back up the hill. Ooops shoulda worn a straw today of all days.

German week three, day fünf.

Mylord Rein Haar (or Rein Haar Mylord; that's a bit unclear).

Colour is called "schiefer" (slate), which is a very nice blueish grey in this case.

Hey, Stefan! I am getting the hang of navigating the site without Tapatalk. Thanks for pointing out the Tonak to me! If you could still find a good Peschel...

Good to see so many following tradition. It's never been a tradition over here and I could still wear velours hats this week, but what can you do? Nico one, Joe.

Very nice, I really like that one
Thank you, GG.

Glad to see you posting more often, Max. So many goodies in your collection that we wouldn't see otherwise. Always on the lookout, for Peschel or any other good hats. Helping along other enthousiasts is what the lounge is about.

Thanks, Michael. Neat weave on that panama.

This week I will feature various shades of Grey German and Austrian Velours. Most will be from the 1930s.

C. G. Wilke "Bürstel Electra", Open Crown 6 inches, Brim 2 1/4 inches probably mid to later 1930s. I showed this hat last week in my C. G. Wilke Guben (Germany) series but it's a great example so here it is again.

You can post that one as often as you like, Steve. Such a great hat.

It's what being bohemian is all about, David; convention be damned!:) Very nice felt and the beaded hat band is perfect.

Very nice, whichever colour is the true representation...What colour is it?
Thanks, Gary. It sits a bit in between the two. The headshot has it more grey than it in reality is due to the cold morning light, while the other shots show it to be more tan, which is also not entirely correct.

Hanging outside and watching the native activity. I have been wearing a brown Stetson Open Road.

Always like to see an Open Road of a different color. Also cool seeing the Bison in your nature photos. There is a Bison ranch nearby and, as it is large, seeing the majestic creatures (now with new young ones) up near the road always brings a smile to my face. Thanks for sharing both the hats and your neighbors with us Eric.

Ha ha, thanks Joe. Mine used to look more or less like that, too. The bottom part still pretty much does, but the top is almost completely faded now.

Thanks, Michael. Neat weave on that panama.

I am wearing the same hat that I posted wearing on Sept 5, 2013. That day it was low 60'f (15.5'c) and today is is 58'f. Similar temp, same hat but an older face.

(Younger me in the above pic with same hat worn today.)

The text from 2013 fits for today: My Cameo was the hat choice this morning. The Lee Cameo was a lesser priced fedora in the 1950's, but I think it is "styling." The taupe color, excellent felt composition and clean ribbon work make it a favorite.
