No head shot yet, but I've been wearing my latest conversion. It started out as a blue Stetson Royal Deluxe St. Regis Homburg. I definitely don't wear a Homburg well, so I converted it. I had hoped to reuse the brim binding but after reflanging it to a snap brim the circumference widened and the ribbon was just too small to reuse. For now I'm leaving it raw edge until I find a ribbon for it. Couldn't reuse the original sweat either. But, I was able to reuse the original black ribbon and liner. I also glued the manufacturers label back into the hat. I took it completely apart and converted it. I'll get some head shots later. The open crown is 5 3/4 tall with a 2 5/8 snap brim. The ribbon is 1 5/8 wide.

This is closer to the actual color:

Yeah, T. You reworked that homburg. I am not sure how I felt at first, about tearing apart a St. Regis, but I can say with certainty you restyled that hat body masterfully. Outstanding job and great color too.

On the Eleventh Day of StingyMas….

Here we are on the Eleventh and final day of StingyMas… which also coincidentally (or not so coincidentally… you decide) coincides with the observance of Festivus.

I decided today to profile two beautiful hats that not only represent StingyMas.. but also in my opinion the Fedora Lounge spirit as a whole. These two hats were gifted to me by lounge friends @Rmccamey and @jlee562

The Eagle Stetson Royal De Luxe

I started today with a zoom call offering me a position I have been pursuing for the past month. I am very happy and excited! It’s a StingyMas/Festivus Miracle!!!

Congratulations on the job offer, Joe! That is good news. I have also been enjoying your stingy Christmas and I must say that Dobbs twenty is a Killer!

David this hat has an open crown of 5.5" and a brim of 2.5". It is a Canadian made Holthausen fedora made in the factory located in Brockville.

I headed out on some errands in a pre-40's Brock fedora.

Home again I went out with my dog and did some yard chores. I changed and wore a pre-40's St. Lawrence, sold by the Brock Hat co. This fedora was made by the Wolthausen Hat Co.

Wish mine was like yours, Joe, Hogwarts style. I'm afraid my wide Brim Mass is more like a flying saucer. I wouldn't like to try it though. I get dizzy spinning around :) View attachment 390407
Whoa Nelly thats one big brim, rodeo riding, yahoo shouting, sun blocking, bronco busting hat you’ve got there, Steve! I know you will turn alot of heads at the acadamy sporting that badboy!

I'll reuse this pic for today, will be sporting this'n all weekend while I spend Christmas in the hospital with my fiance. Her cancer treatments are going well and hopefully will be coming home next week. Although she'll need to continue radiation therapy for the next few weeks. With another round of chemo in a month. Merry Christmas and Happy Hannukah!

Christmas almost done and dusted here in Japan. The weather was perfect for barbecuing. I started out in my Akubra Cattleman with a Tokyo Black porter.

a quick shower to rid myself of the smoke aroma and finally got my Christmas present - Hornskov Rancher. Beaver and bunny blend in western weight. The colour is stone with a dusty rose ribbon

I love the hat, but I’m not entirely convinced about the cattleman crease.
The western weight felt is similar in feel to my 100% beaver dress weight Hornskov, but a little stiffer.
Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas.

Merry Christmas to you too, Gary. The Hornskov Rancher looks great. It has all of the current popular features; wide flat brim with a pencil curl. The cattlemans crease works well with that style. Hopfully it will grow on you. Enjoy!

Thanks Reggie. I think it looks pretty good on an angle like in the photos I posted, but I’m not as enthusiastic about the front on view…

I’ll give it a chance to grow on me and if it doesn’t, it feels like it will pretty easy to change it with a bit of steam.

I think it might by the ribbon size to crown height ratio, like the hat a lot myself too but feel the same about the cattleman. Will look forward to seeing more, and merry Xmas!
