Nice! Patina king right there. California Sportswear made. Can’t give you an exact date but it’s between 1950-1955.

Would it be a crime to use urad on this to put color back into it? Or should I just use obenaufs to hydrate it?

Not a jacket but a wallet. Super happy with it. The whole thing is one of my favorite leathers, shinki horsebutt. I may take the brass link off.

Best of all it was only $100 which is crazy. Similar (from a solo maker) would be 2-3x as much in the US.

Urad won’t moisturize leather. If it’s dry Urad shouldn’t be the first conditioner you use. Use an oil first, then Urad to seal it up. Urad is wax. The dark brown Urad will make that jacket look showroom new but if the leather needs hydrating, address that first with a conditioner.

I personally like using 100% neatsfoot oil for hydration/conditioning. I also like all the Saphir products (their mink oil the least) as well as Leatherhoney.

I hate Urad. That **** is disgusting. Makes me want to puke just smelling it. I’ll only ever use the clear Urad in the tiniest amounts to cover any small areas of color loss. Does a good job with that but so do many other products.

Hopefully you love it, didn't pay much and it's a good fit so you can just wear it until it disintegrates and not worry.
