Hard disagree in the summer in New Orleans. Some days I don't even want to wear a straw unless it's ventilated cuz anything that keeps your noggin from radiating heat just makes you sweat miserably. You do you, but as much as I wish I could wear even the lighter weight felts it's just not comfortable here.
I was raised in Charleston, SC. Similar humidity to N.O. and much worse than the Gulf Coast of Florida (where I am now). I'm just saying that if I did it then (and actually will again this weekend), it is do-able. Not for everyone, surely, but do-able.

I was reading it as "never a bad time to wear felt inside with the AC on blast" - I stand corrected.

I do like wearing a cranky hat while I'm pacing in the yard to try and sweat it into submission sometimes, but that is very purpose-oriented.

Come to think of it I have a friend whose wife was raised here and he says she'll drive around in the summer with the AC off and the windows rolled up, so maybe you just have to be cold blooded due to being born here lol.

I've come to be able to tolerate the heat and humidity but I do everything I can to make it as easy as possible to tolerate it.

mitigate = correct - this is called a crazy person lol - I'll get in a sauna every now and again but only if I can get back out.

Wearing my first Christy's today, courtesy of @jeffgarf.

My wife likes this one. She says the brim proportions are correct for my size and frame - 5'8" 185 lbs., for the record.

I'm going to post a picture of the Optimo for comparison. The brim on the Christy's is 2 1/2" and the brim on the Optimo is 2 3/4", which isn't that wide for me these days.

But for the moment, I digress - Jeff Garf, my first Christy's - love this hat :)

And the Optimo:

Since I bought the Optimo before I had a standardized system for recording new hats, and for the purposes of this conversation, I pulled it back out and got some new photos.

What I notice now, having had more experience with a wider variety of hats, is that I don't think it's the brim width that is really giving me trouble. I am actually having issues getting the brim shaped according to my current preferences. I didn't clock this when I first bought it. I suspect this is caused or exacerbated by the thin brim ribbon, which feels like it is forcing it into a preferred configuration.
I love the brim on that Christy’s! How the left side is slightly curled, awesome.

Dobbs today for the 38th birthday of our twin babies.

I was gonna ask you to ship that AF in one of these but I didn't think about it until too late - maybe next time.
This case is not one of mine. I wish mine could be this good. Mine only are the hat case. This company attached that to a backpack. Much more expensive and rare. Got to give thanks to my daughter-in-law who found this one for me.
